For one reason or another, there are just some books that will never be made into a movie, television show, or play. It could be because the author will never sell the rights to a studio, or the book is the 10th book in a series and the viewing market is saturated with the story. Another reason could be that no matter how famous the book (here's looking at you The Catcher in the Rye), sometimes turning the pages into a screenplay proves just too difficult.

For this challenge, you will read as many books as you can that have not been turned into movies, television shows, or stage plays.

How to Participate

1. Post here telling the Challenge Leader that you'd like to join the challenge. You can choose your books for the challenge at the beginning, or add them as you go. You can join a challenge at any time, as long as the challenge is still active. You must choose a goal for the challenge.

2. Whenever you finish a book for the challenge, post here and let the challenge leader know so they can update your progress.
---Please be sure to post the number of books, you have completed every time you post an update. The Challenge Leader is not able to keep track for you because of the number of participants in the challenge.

3. Some members choose to update their original post with their progress to keep track of their challenge more easily, but make sure to also post a new message so the Challenge Leader knows to go look at your original post. You can look at how other members report their progress to find a strategy that works well for you.

A quick way to do A-Z, with exception of Z is to do Sue Grafton series. When I was reading about her death, they said that she refused to every have any of her books go to screen/TV. I have only read a few and not sure they would make a good movie, but with right actors maybe could do a tv series. These challenges about books to screen/tv/stage have been a struggle since I used to think I didn't like books on screen, but have been surprised at how many books there are that have been made into screen/tv/stage. So I may use a couple of Sue Grafton books for hard to find letters, but I will try for 6 books
