I have no idea what to write here. I love Bernard Cornwell and Manda Scott and I’m trying to branch out and read other historical fiction authors.

I'm somewhat new to reading HF but seem to have developed a bit of an obsession with it, so I'm very much looking forward to getting some recommendations and chatting with everyone.

My husband is in the US Army and we move way too much. I currently reside in beautiful interior Alaska.
I LOVE Ken Follet. I, for the most part, only read historical fiction and love a multiple perspective book! I just started the Zion Covenant series and am hooked!

My name is Becca! I'm from sunny San Diego, California. I honestly haven't read enough books recently, and I am making it a goal to read more this year. I hate to think of it as a "resolution", but I suppose that's what it is.
I am a part time Costume Designer for theatre in my area, and historical fashion has always fascinated me. I almost got my degree in history, but decided I'd rather go with costume design since I could get my favorite part of history in more depth. The fashion! That's a lot of why historical fiction has always been my favorite book genre. I can be a part of that time, in some way, and feel as though I am really there. It's inspirational for me.
The more variety, the better, honestly! I am excited to see what kind of exciting books we can explore together!

Also here is a link of a review of the book by the Historical Novel Society:
I look forward to being a part of the group.

This is my first reading group. "A Gentleman in Moscow" seemed like a good starting place.

I've been a member of GR for 10 years but haven't been active for a few years. Life kept me too busy to participate in groups or even to read for fun very often. Now I'm back. I'm a Psychologist in private practice in Boulder, CO. But I was raised in Los Angeles and spent 20 years in NYC. I am an avid reader of historical fiction.
I look forward to sharing thoughts and ideas with all of you. :))

Anne, it’s great that you’re finding a path to more balance in your life so you can read more.

Agreed!

I look forward to reading and commenting with everyone.

Welcome Libby from another retired from clinical practice RN. So much more time to read, its wonderful. HF & mysteries are probably my go-to genres, but I like quite a variety in my reading.

Thanks Chris.

I’ll try and check that one out Carrie. Thanks for the tip.

Also newly retired from public education....more time to read!

I am Rick DeStefanis. I am an author and live in Mississippi. I write historical fiction. I seldom post, but read the Historical Fictionistas discussions quite often.

Yay Susan! What could be better than more time to read? I've not discovered it yet.

Hello! Fellow identical twin mom here!
Hello! Fellow identical twin mom here!

I finally took the plunge and have written two books, both self-published.
Hope to connect with like-minded readers and fill my library with great books to read.
