Silver Shadows
question
Did anyone else feel like this? (SPOILER)

Was anybody else unhappy with sydney and adrian getting married? I keep reading comments & everyones saying how excited they are about the wedding. I understand the reasoning behind it but I just feel like they're way too young. I'm not that much younger than Sydney & theres no way i can imagine myself getting married in the near future. Just thinking about it makes me feel weird.

Yes, yes, a million times over. I understand it was a way to grant Sydney sanctuary but they've known each other for under a year and have been together even less than that. (I can't really count Sydney's four months in re-education since they were apart with zero contact.) Throw in the fact that Adrian is Sydney's first boyfriend, Adrian put almost no effort into finding her for months, and they (in my opinion) do not mesh well together at all; this marriage is a recipe for disaster. Unfortunately, it's fiction, so everything will work out. In real life? Highly unlikely.
I'm not going to say they are 'too young' (I was married at twenty-two), but their relationship is definitely too young! They had only been really dating (if you can call it that) for a little less than two months before Sydney was taken away.

It was so emotional. I've never been to a wedding, and I am proud to say that the first I have been to is a fictional one.

I rarely like weddings in YA books. Sometimes in the epilogue it's okay, but often it comes off sounding cheesy and unnecessary. This one wasn't much of an exception.. cheesy? yes. unnecessary? I'm not sure. I think that there was definitely another option rather than marriage, but Richelle Mead wanted to make her readers happy... It still seemed cheesy and "romance-novel-y" to me...
I'm from a small town, everyone I know has gotten married before they turned 20. I wouldn't want to get married that young, but I know people can make it work.
Honestly, it kind of bothered me. But I don't even know how to explain why. It's not because I didn't expect that to happen because I totally did. It's just that it seemed rushed and predictable to me. Anyway I'm waiting to read the finale before making up my mind.
before so I do not like Sydrian and could not see them together as a couple but after reading The Indigo Spell and The fiery heart so I could see them together.
now I want them to be together and get married but not so young. could understand why Adrian did it.There was because he loves Sydney and to help sydney so she could hide.
The fact that they both were so young when they got married, I felt that it was very rash. wants them would have had a real wedding, maybe later it will be?
As I said, I can understand why they both did it, they love each other but they are so young and I'm also afraid that it was too early for a wedding between them.

I understand what you are saying but that was the only way sydney would be protected from those evil alchemists. But yeah i cannot imaine getting married when I'm 19.
I haven´t read Silver Shadows yet, but I read the scene where Adrian kisses this Nina girl. Alright he was dreaming of Sydney but why didn´t he push her away the second time????? Now that they´re married shouldn´t he tell her he kissed Nina?? I mean he was kind of cheating on Sydney, that´s not the way they should start their married life by him keeping it from her. I feel like when Adrian´s not with Sydney he´s his old self, it´s like he´s pretending to be better.
It was too fast. I don't know it was weird but whatever it was their decision, plus the scene at the end with all their families in the same room--PRICELESS.
I think I was just disappointed that their wedding was so spur of the moment and surrounded by danger that it was hard to be totally enthralled about it. I am glad it happened though. i actually thought the series would end with them getting married.
Initially I was unnerved by the wedding too but its fiction for crying out loud and I am no child to follow their example. The wedding was too good to let my reservations meddle. I am happy for the young Mr and Mrs Ivashkov.
Although I hope Sydney goes to Mit and Adrian gets a real job.

Seriously with everything these two have been threw i think marriage was already in there future. Sure it was rushed but it was bond to happen eventually. Have we ever known Sydney to make a stupid decision?
I dont think they really had any option in this...they had to do it or be on run forever...and they are in love so..why not?
I had my reservations about it; it's not where I would've taken the plot. I felt it was kind of rushed. That's not to say I never expected them to get married. I expect it out of them more than Rose and Dimitri. I just think that it should've come later.
However I think it was necessary at the time. Adrian loves her and they are so meant to be. This is the only way they could see out of the situation. And I have to admit the wedding fit their personalities perfectly. I couldn't have imagined a better wedding for either of them.
The only thing that bothers me is the timing. I wanted their wedding to happen not under duress, but I honestly can't wait to see them adapting to this new dynamic in The Ruby Circle.

It bothered me. I can understand why they did it but it was rash. Although to be honest I had mixed feeling about the whole book.
The series, prior to this book, felt as though a lot of planning was put into the story line across the books. However, with this book it felt a bit more haphazard.
I think I will refrain from judging it to harshly until we get the next book. Silver Shadows was in the place of the climax book for the series. It was bound to leave fans with mixed feelings. Hopefully the final book will leave us with a better opinion of the series as a whole.

Not ideal or the path I though their story would take, but I'm so smitten with these two night/day characters that I was sold.
NONSENSE!!!!!!!!!!!! it was nothing short of stupid and rash.
At first I didn't like the idea of them getting married either. But Adrian convinced me. Sydney needed to be protected and that was the only way he knew how at that time. Yes she's a little young but I feel like they would totally make it work.
