This site is cool. I don't have a strong reading habit but I brought Memoirs of a Geisha with me to Japan and one comfort book: Their Eyes Were Watching God. I have a huge coding textbook I want to try to get through. I think it would be fun to study some Japanese through manga, but I worry about shipping books home. Cost is so expensive, but I don't really like ebooks unless I am using it for reference material.

What's the textbook?

I don't often read comic books / graphic novels but recently I did read one from Amazon. I was reading it on my Android tablet. It had an interesting feature -- in addition to being able to see the whole page with all the panels, one could tell the Kindle app to go through the book one panel at a time. In this mode there was only one panel on the screen at a time.

About manga. A long time ago I found a thing called (I think) Mangazine. It presented Manga to English-speaking people. I remember especially that for almost everything that anybody said the translators indicated the politeness level of what was said (they used numbers 1-5, as I remember).
