I'm kicking off with my charms read which is Falling Through Clouds by Anna Chilvers. I'm only 60 pages in and I'm not LOVING it, but it's not awful!
Hope you enjoy doing the OWLs!

I absolutely loved the Six of Crows duology; it's one of my favourites. I like the diversity of the main 6.

I'm currently reading Shadowblack for Transfiguration, because it's got sprayed edges. (I love love loooove sprayed edges).

Yes, me too, Femke! I LOVE all the dynamics within the main 6 group!! Amazing characters, and so much action - it's un-putdownable for me! I think I'll be sad when I finish this one that it's all over!

OOH I recognize the series you're reading, and I LOVE the covers!! They are so cool - and with sprayed edges too - WOW! I really need to get to that series soon!!! I hope book 2 is a great read for you.

Neo (neosideralis) @ Anne
I've heard that Bardugo might write a 3rd SoC book. :) (Aside from that, King of Scars was also released fairly recently; it's about Nikolai.)

I really enjoy the Spellslinger series. The humour reminds me a little of Percy Jackson. It has a bit of a frontier / western setting, and the magic in it is interesting. I also like that it kind of plays with the "chosen one" trope (almost reversing it), because the main character is more of a disaster than the typical hero who's good at everything.
I liked Shadowblack even more than the first; it's fast paced and action-packed for a 'short' book (about 340 pages).

oh my gosh that would be awesome - there are millions of fans who would be very excited if a 3rd SoC book gets written!!

I just picked up Spellslinger #1 from the library, so excited to read it - I was a tiny bit bummed that it was a different cover - I love the black and white ones that look like cards! haha!

I have one book left, ('Star in title), and I've been dragging my heels a bit, because I'm not all that excited about any of the book options I'm considering...

That's exciting to know NEWT's is back in August, I will definitely create a thread for it as soon as it's out!
