Also, can one single book fulfill more than one requirement (such as a classic set during a war that also non-fiction i.e.: Scarlett/Revolver/Study)?

There isn't a 'winning' combination. Just playing for fun, unless someone has a idea for finishing the "game"."
If there's no time frame, we could conceivable finish all the combinations and "win" by default. Not likely, but still...
I'd be that person who obsessively tries to complete them all so I probably won't participate. If there were a definitive end date, or a "read 'til the 'winning' combination is posted" aspect, I might give it a go.
Okay. Next time that I'm not pleased with a reading challenge that I've created, I'll ask for input from everyone.
Jammin Jenny sent me a message. In it, she suggests that when someone signs up to participate, I should randomly determine their solution. Each time they post a guess, I will let them know if any of their picks are correct.
What does everyone think?

Okay, that's 3 votes for the change. I am updating the instructions. Please request your solution when you sign up.

I'd love to join but that's depending on the changes you make - as long as I don't feel stressed I'd give it a try - I know I'm most likely in the minority so please feel free to adjust it according to the suggestions you got/get.
Agnieszka wrote: "I like the challenge the way you posted it originally since there's no pressure of any kind in it and it's just for the fun of playing/reading. I'm aware most people prefer some kind of competition..."
I knew something was missing when I created the challenge. I think Jenny came up with a good way to top it off.
I certainly don't want to add pressure to anyone's reading. You are welcome to take part in the challenge as casually as you'd like. And you can take was long as you'd like to find the solution.
Does that help, Agnieszka?

I don't have any other 'interactive' challenges going on right now, so I don't think that it will be too much. No worries :)

Tania, I also have your solution. Good luck!

For instance, say I read two books, back to back, that have Military MCs. Then I read a book that Set During a War. Then one that I got from the library. Then one with Water on Cover. Then one from Library. Then one with Food on Cover, then a Military MC then a Series Book. (For the sake of argument, nothing else applies in each of the books.)
Read tracking looks like this:
Col. Mustard - Book 1 (date read 04/01/2019)
Revolver - Book 3 (date read 04/03/2019)
Library - Book 4 (date read 04/04/2019
Col. Mustard - Book 2 (date read 04/02/2019)
Lead Pipe - Book 5 (date read 04/05/2019)
Library - Book 6 (date read 04/05/2019)
Colonel Mustard - Book 8 (date read 04/08/2019)
Rope - Book 9 (date read 04/09/2019)
Dining Room - Book 7 (date read 04/07/2019)
I'm guessing the way books are read in one group won't matter...but I'm asking specifically about concurrently running groups. (Like if I read 5 books in a row with a Military MC, then start on the weapons/rooms.)
Edited to add: I'm creating a spreadsheet for all the possible permutations (324 of them!) for tracking purposes and need to know if I should include a Book Name and Date Read column.

I don't mind if you have several groups of three going at the same time. But as soon as one is complete, you ask if any is correct. For example, there's no point in continuing to read for Col. Mustard if you know that he's not part of your solution.
The book and date should be included when you ask if your solution is correct.
Thanks for helping to clarify those points that I left out of my instructions :)

When you sign up to participate,(Sign-ups for a mystery are now closed) request a mystery. I will use random.org to make your customized crime. Each time you post a set of three books (one suspect, one weapon, one room), I will tell you which of the three you got correct.Once you have correctly guessed a Suspect, Weapon or Room, you do not have to read a book for it when preparing for another guess. Just remind me when you guess, and you've already gotten one or more right.
No page limit.
Re-reads and audio books are okay.
