Kayla Lopez (b00kjunki3) Hello fellow book junkies!

I am looking for a good page turning series that will keep me captivated and not wanting to put the book down. Its been quite a while since I experienced this. I prefer books that have some supernatural/magical aspects to it. Game of Thrones is one of my favorites, so I'm trying to read something that has a similar style, but I'm honestly open to any suggestions!!! I appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you!!!!! :)

Heather (heathercaticorn) | 1 comments Hunger Games did that for me, way better than the movies. I haven't found a good series like it since, but I'm getting back into reading again after a long hiatus anyway. Good luck!

Pixiegirl105 | 64 comments Try the Throne of Glass series...It's "YA" but it's good for adults too. Throne of Glass

Beth (coffee114) I am currently obsessed with James Patterson's Crazy House. The second book just came out the other day and I can't wait to eat it up! Also, if you are more into historical stuff, the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is awesome too! I read the first one but I'll have to wait for the next one because my schedule doesn't allow for much reading time and I like to finish books within a certain time frame of starting them. Also, Veronica Roth books are good for a quick read. She has two series out: Divergent and Carve the Mark. Both are pretty good.

Satrina T | 375 comments I second The Hunger Games series and I would add The Cemetery of Forgotten Books series by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

Kayla Lopez (b00kjunki3) Thank you guys for the recommendations! I def. read the hunger games series, but I will look into the other series as well because I have not heard of those before. Well, except for the Outlander series. I heard its good, but its hard for me to get into books with more of a historical like plot.

Thank you!! Keep the recommendations comin!

Betsy | 930 comments It's a little out there but I think the Northern Lights (His Dark Materials series) by Philip Pullman is addictive and thrilling, with magical elements and twists and turns along the way.
In this world, people have a daemon, a manifested conscience in animal form, the opposite gender to their own.

An Ember in the Ashes was an okay read for me, but perhaps it would be that type of page-turning excitement that you're looking for.

Lastly, And I Darken was a fascinating fantastical take on Vlad the Impaler tale -- as a girl!

Hope this helps!

Nick | 5 comments Hello Kayla! What about the "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" series? Must work for you! I mean, if THAT one isn't a page-turner, I don't know what else is! And it looks like I mostly share your taste.

message 9: by Erica (new)

Erica Have you read A Discovery of Witches? It's the first in a wonderful trilogy by Deborah Harkness. Most enjoyable.

Stephanie Gwaltney | 94 comments @Erica, If you were not aware, there is actually a 4th Discovery of Witches book out Time's Convert

Yes, I'm actually reading that one now! I still love the very first one in the series the best.

Amy (amyshick) Three Dark Crowns

message 13: by Shelley (new)

Shelley I just made these same recommendations to Beth for world building. All three trilogies have supernatural/magical elements to them.

The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. (Winternight Trilogy) All three books have been published.

The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. (Daevabad Trilogy) The first two books have been published.

The Waking Land by Callie Bates. (Waking Land Trilogy). Book three should be available in June.

Jennifer | 341 comments Based on the group’s theme, have you read the Narnia series? Start with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

message 15: by Shelley (new)

Shelley If you are open to reading children's literature, Brandon Mull's Beyonders series is one of the best I've read.

message 16: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer The Court of Thorn and Rises series by Sarah Maas is really good!

message 17: by Kerri (new)

Kerri | 710 comments There are a lot of really good series here! If you like sci-fi, I would recommend The Lunar Chronicles (first book: Cinder) by Marissa Meyers. I was in a slump a few years back, but when I picked up this series I read the whole thing in less than a week, most of the books in a day.

Happy readings :)

I have been waiting to start this series until it was finished! I guess it's been a while since I checked on it!!

Newly Wardell | 30 comments you gotta check out the murderbot diaries by Martha Wells. it's 4 novellas. it short engaging reads. you can read em all in a weekend without trying.

Book three is out. I loved the story and the writing of the first book, but the marrying the earth thing was a bit weird. I may have to finish the series, though. Every time I walk by the new book, I want to take it home with me.

R.S. Merritt | 6 comments Dies the Fire by SM Sitrling is pretty good at keeping the interest level up. Dies the Fire (Emberverse, #1) by S.M. Stirling . If you like Dystopian type stuff.

The Way of Kings or Furies of Calderon. The Eye of the World rambles on a bit so I'm not sure of pageturner, but it is a fantasy epic so. Trickster's Choice for politics and godfights.

message 23: by Betsy (new)

Betsy | 930 comments I haven't started yet but am meaning to this new year: the Witcher saga. It's Polish but has been translated into many different languages. There are two short story collections before the series begins. Start here - The Last Wish - if you're looking for enthralling, magical and addictive storylines.

message 24: by Kerri (new)

Kerri | 710 comments I just read a fluffy murder-mystery series that is ridiculous, formulaic, and a bit predictable but still manages to be really fun and I flew through them. The Perfectly Proper Paranormal Museum is book one. There is a little mix of supernatural elements due to the paranormal museum aspect and there are 4 out so far.

message 25: by Liz (new)

Liz B (lizboc) The Chaos Walking Trilogy by Patrick Ness is so good! I bought the first one on a whim while I was on vacation and loved them all.

message 26: by Lourdes (new)

Lourdes GH I am currently reading the first book in the Arc of the Scythe series. It’s called Scythe and I cannot put it down! I am almost done with the first book and really looking forward to the second one.

message 27: by Renee (new)

Renee (elenarenee) It is a good series. Scythe is the best of the books, Enjoy
