Group 218. Novella, Mod. Hock

It is available on KindleUnlimited and is a Scottish Highlander romance.
'Secrets' by Ceri Bladen

I see no conflicts yet.

I’d like to join with The Passage of Desire. It’s a series prequel but can be read as standalone and (in spite of an apparently misleading cover, am looking for a new one!) it’s a family life/coming of age novella.

No clashes so far.

I would like to join this reading round with my novella, Comfortable in Hell. It will be continued, but this introduction is also a standalone story! It is a paranormal "romance" -- with a hint of erotica.
/book/show/4...

We need four more.
Please check back every couple of days -
you will review the four names after yours and you may review someone you have reviewed before BUT must review a different book.
You may NOT review someone who has reviewed you!
The moderator will have to move people around, if possible.
We'll start after it is clear no one breaks these rules.

/book/show/4...

If there is still space I'd be up for joining the group.
I have no clashes with anyone (so far), I've finished my last round and I'm ready to start.

As the book is written under a pseudonym, Cloud McStrange, it is not coming up on my author page at the moment.
Here is the goodreads link:

Here is Splutter (book's title) on amazon though:
Anything else?
Cheers.

I believe the only conflict I have is with Cearuil. I've already reviewed his.

/book/show/4...
Thanks,
Stacie
*Clashes: I’ve read Splutter (by C McStrange). Other than that, there are some here that have read my other books - but not Dragon Kingdom.

We are trying to resolve Eunice's participation.
Otherwise, we need one more!

(Hi, I'm new here, but an avid reader--typically about a book a week. Is there a rule against being in two review groups at once? If not, then I'll happily hop in on this one with my short story. I'm also throwing my hat in on an Out of this World Group)

/book/show/4...

Hock Tjoa has reviewed one of mine on a previous round.

You can review someone that you have reviewed before but not the same book.
You canNOT review anyone who has reviewed you.
The moderator's job is to shuffle the list - this is usually possible.
Welcome, Nathan. Sorry to see Rhian leave. We still need one more.

I'll revise the list after we get the tenth position filled, but the best solution is for you to review me again..
Best wishes.

/book/show/4...
I don't see any clashes on the list.

Please check for clashes -
everyone on the list reviews the next four persons
and everyone is reviewed by the four people listed above (no.1 is reviewed by n7-n10, etc.)
Remember you cannot review someone who has reviewed you, but you can review again someone that you have reviewed before provided it is a different book.
If I don't hear back by Monday midnight GST, I'll set up the formal assignments.

Thank you.
I noticed another one of my books is listed instead of the novella. The book should be Cloven, not Dead End.
/book/show/4...

Melinda [Judge Dee as discussed],
James [please check with Cearuil about alternative title],
Karen,
Kady [Cloven not Dead End], and
Laurette.

It looks like Cearuil has another novella, Bedtime Stories for Grownups. I can read that one, so I should be good.
Thanks.

The same goes for anyone else who finds something else of the author to review - be sure you both agree
The moderator is not so important.

I just spoke with James. It's okay my end if he reviews an alternative title ie Bedtime Stories for Grown Ups.
Ready to get started.
All the best everyone.

Please read the set-up below carefully and let me know if there are any conflicts or if I screwed something up.
Remember, it is O.K. to review someone you have reviewed before provided you now review a different book.
It is ABSOLUTELY NOT O.K. to review someone who has reviewed you before.
You may review your assignments in any order. (I have a personal rule to review in the order I receive the books.)

Let me know ASAP if there is something wrong with the above!
Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement or missing out on reads/reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.
It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their readers in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to provide and accept PDF. You may buy or borrow the books you are due to read if you wish, and I’m sure the author will appreciate the verified review, but IT IS NOT COMPULSORY. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines.
All reviews must be posted to GR. We also encourage members to post on amazon .com and amazon.co.uk. When you have posted your reviews, please post the links to your reviews, not to the book page.
The mod of each round will record whether members have posted reviews on amazon. Members who persistently fail to post reviews or DNF reviews to amazon, may be excluded from subsequent groups.
Postings to other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.
Happy reviewing, everyone.
:)

For the reviewers of my books, I will be contacting you now about recieving my book, Clouded Hearts.
Happy reading everyone!!

Looking forward...

Reviews to come... :)

you are right Melinda should be one of the four to review you and not Elani
The rules are - looking at the following chart, each of us must review the four names following and be reviewed by the four names above/preceding. Thus, (4) should review 5-8 and be reviewed by 10-3.
1. Hock G. Tjoa
2. Ceri Bladen
3. Kady Monroe
4. Laurette Long
5. Karen Ann Carpenter
6. James Maxstadt
7. °ä±ð²¹°ùú¾±±ô Swords
8. Elani Roman
9. Nathan Milner
10. Melinda Brasher
My confusion comes from trying to do this in my head but from now on, I shall do it on paper!

Please note that although posting your reviews to Amazon is no longer required it is highly sought after
PLEASE DO SO IF YOU CAN.
Amazon rules have become confusing so we should understand if a reviewer cannot do this.

Also I am on Kady's list to review her book as well. Would that put me at 5 authors to review?
Thank you for the help sorting it out.

The review group hosts non-reciprocal reading/review rounds of ten authors. When a round has ‘now forming in the title, there are places available, you can sign up.
Amazon rules state that authors/publishers are not allowed to supply published books in return for reviews on Amazon. To comply with this new rule, we no longer insist members review on Amazon.
When sorting out groups, the moderators give priority to those members who have fully participated in previous groups.
This is a Novella round
In joining this group you agree TO READ and REVIEW ANY four ALLOCATED novellas (under 45,000 words) within the set 8 week limit. Fiction, non-fiction, and poetry are acceptable as well as and books for children.]
Each participant will receive four reviews.
This group requires that everyone trusts each other to behave honorably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread /topic/show/...
In signing up below with your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ author and Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ book link in the thread below, you make these commitments:
1. You have enough time to read and review 4 books within the time allowed.
2. Your book MUST be available for sale on Amazon and listed on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. This is the book link you provide when you sign up for a review group.
3. You MUST submit reviews to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and one other site â€ e.g., Amazon.com, Amazon.uk, Kobo, Applebooks, etc. Amazon has recently changed its criteria for reviewers to allow only those people who have spent $50 on amazon. If you are unsure about your amazon reviewer status, try posting a ‘testâ€ review BEFORE signing up in this Group.
5. You can provide (and accept) at least PDF files. Many authors can also provide mobi and epub files. You are not expected or required to buy the books you are allocated to review. Some reviewers borrow books via KU and some authors provide Smashwords coupons. This is optional. International Copyright laws apply. You cannot sell, or give away the material you have received without the author’s express permission.
6. Do NOT use any disclaimers e.g., “I received a free copy from the author without an obligation to review.
7. You are NOT currently in another review round in this group. You can be involved in the ‘one for one list while you are in a reading round.
8. You must have an author profile set up before you join this Group. If you have more than one, please up with the one that allows others to send you a message. Please use this throughout your participation in this group, so that you can be reached by anyone who may not wish to reply publicly. This is sometimes known as PM (private message).
9. Please declare any relationship you have with another member in the round. Amazon will not allow reviews from the same household on the same book or if you are an editor, relative or close friend of another member. It is particularly important to state if you have reviewed or been reviewed by someone in this group.
10. Your reviews should be unbiased and honest, whatever the star rating, and you MUST avoid ‘spoilers, i.e. giving away plot twists or the ending of a book.
11. You may not ask a fellow author to change a review of your book because you don’t agree with it. If you think you have a legitimate concern, send a PM to the moderator of your round, NOT the other author. Personal attacks or harassment of other members WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and will result in you being blacklisted.
12. You are committing to four reviews. If you have to drop out, you must find someone else to finish your reviews for you. People who Do Not Finish and/or don’t post reviews may be banned from participating in other Review Groups.
13. Your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ details and the rounds you participate in will be recorded by the admin mod on a database. We do not retain details of email addresses etc.
Places in this group are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
You may review an author more than once provided you review a different book. You MAY NOT be reviewed by anyone that you have reviewed before.
If you need anything clarified please ask as early as possible, either by Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ PM (personal message) to the moderator or on the thread below. It’s a pain to have to keep rearranging the list because people haven’t read the instructions above.
The moderator for this group will be
Hock
