BeccaXx (xbeccax) Hi everyone, i’m Becca and i’m 19 from the UK.

I don’t have many people to talk about books to so I thought i’d see if anyone on here wanted to become friends? I mainly read YA and NA romance but also the occasional thriller or non fiction. Would love some recommendations also if anyone has any?

Thank you!

Jonathan K (Max Outlier) (nuance4u) My bad...I saw Kristy's response but sent the request to Rebecca...DOH! Hope you're having fun!

BeccaXx (xbeccax) Hahaha all is good Jonathan! That would be lovely, thank you! 😊

Jonathan K (Max Outlier) (nuance4u) Pleasure is mind Becca.. Am curious what authors you've read recently and if any of them are unique. I'm stumbled across many of which Greg Iles has become a favorite. A native of Natchez, MS, his books are page turners, though a number of the stories are driven by family themes, which is unique for that genre. Having read seven of his books, I'm about to finish #8! Many more authors to share though

message 8: by BeccaXx (new)

BeccaXx (xbeccax) That sounds awesome Jonathan, I will give the books a look! Thank you for the recommendation 😌 As for what myself, i’ve really wanted to read some of the John Marrs books because they sound incredible however, i’m sucked into romance at the moment hahaha.

message 9: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan K (Max Outlier) (nuance4u) Nothing wrong with romance ;) Haruki Marukami wrote a rather interesting book centered around a relationship titled "1Q84" Epic in length, its a remarkable story that takes place in parallel worlds though I wouldn't classify it as science fiction. Haruki is a master storyteller who's able to blend fantasy characters and break new ground. I recently read his latest, "Killing Commendatore" and loved it!

message 10: by BeccaXx (new)

BeccaXx (xbeccax) That sound’s very interesting! I’ll definitely check out Haruki!!

message 11: by Desi (new)

Desi | 3 comments Becca I have been sucked into romance lately as well! if you've never read Colleen Hoover, I suggest checking her out

message 12: by BeccaXx (new)

BeccaXx (xbeccax) Thank you Destiney! I have a couple of her books that I want to read, do you have any in particular you would suggest??

message 13: by Desi (new)

Desi | 3 comments Ugly Love is my personal favorite by her but they are all wonderful. Her most recent book called Verity was amazing and a total mind blower

message 14: by BeccaXx (new)

BeccaXx (xbeccax) Ahh i’ll have to give them both a look! Thank you!! I’ve really wanted to read ‘It ends with us however, i’ve been told it’s a real emotional rollercoaster😂

message 15: by Desi (new)

Desi | 3 comments It so is!! all her books are but that one is a special kind of sad lol

message 16: by BeccaXx (new)

BeccaXx (xbeccax) Aww! I will definitely check them all out! Will have to prepare myself emotionally beforehand 😂

message 17: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan K (Max Outlier) (nuance4u) Just finished the book below

Turning Angel

While a page turner crime novel, the story centers around two teen girls of which one is murdered in the beginning. Both of them high IQ, its a story that will keep you turning pages, as with all the books this author writes. Since you're similar age to the girls, you might find it to your liking!

message 18: by BeccaXx (new)

BeccaXx (xbeccax) That sounds so interesting, Jonathan! I will definitely give it a look, thank you! :)

message 19: by Roe (new)

Roe (roelynn) | 293 comments Hi I am Roe! I read anything and everything. I run a book club so I am always looking for new suggestions! Feel free to add me and let talk books!!!

message 20: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan K (Max Outlier) (nuance4u) Hey Roe...always open to new friends.. also curious about the type of book club. Like you I enjoy variety rather than a single genre especially when the author's storytelling involves great characters, plot and insight. As far as recommendations go I have many depending upon your preferred genre. I'll send you a friend request :)

message 27: by Rivka (new)

Rivka Hey I’m Rivka, I don’t love romances, but if you’re into fiction, my all time favorite is the six of crows duology(which is becoming a Netflix series just fyi) and anything by ruta sepetys. Happy reading!

message 28: by Alecsandra (new)

Alecsandra Brewer Hi! I just logged back into my Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ account so I'm fairly new here, but I'm also looking friends to add on here :) When I read I end up binge-reading it so I'm always looking for suggestions!

My favorite genre of books are pretty vast so I'm down to read whatever really, but if I absolutely had to "narrow" it down it would have to be Mystery, Humor/Comedy, Horror/Thriler, Travel, Historical Fiction, and Romance.

message 29: by Laura (new)

Laura Hi. I'm Laura from the Vegas area. Recently retired, so have more time on my hands to read (and listen) to books. I love memoirs, biographies and poetry, though pretty much open to other genres as well. I look forward to reading your thoughts on the group's books!

message 30: by Shannon (new)

Shannon P (shannonmarieparker) | 12 comments Hi! I'm Shannon from the US. I've been a bookish person my entire life and I enjoy all sorts of books from almost every genre. Horror stories aren't really my thing.

I have worked as a freelance proofreader/editor, a volunteer at multiple libraries in multiple capacities (including assistant to one director and time spent volunteering in school school libraries), and as a reading tutor to children of many ages ranging from pre-reading preschoolers to high schoolers with learning disabilities, home schooled and conventionally schooled.

My Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ shelves include books I've read for leisure, books I've read with my children, books I've reread from my childhood because I wanted to see if the story was as I remembered, audiobooks I've listened to as I do my work or drive to my next location, and I read or listen to books before bed each night. I can always find time for a book so I always have access to one.

I would like to make friends with people who update their feed as they start and finish books. I would also like very much to read the thoughts others have on what they're reading. I like interaction through likes and comments, but I don't expect people to constantly be in contact especially if they are reading.

BeccaXx (xbeccax) Hello to all the new people who have commented!

It’s so lovely to meet you all, i’ve friend requested each of you :) If anyone needs or has recommendations for books then i’m more than happy to chat!

Eden (edensbookishness) Hi I'm Eden, I'm 16 and only have about 2 people to talk to in my life about the books I'm reading. I go to a drama school so very few do any recreational reading or appreciate books. I am really excited to be here and to start discussing! I love YA books, classics, dystopian, fiction and romance (just to play into all teenage girl stereotype).
