Group 231 - Novella

You don't. As the lists are filled up, participants look for and report "conflicts."
The admin mod - yours truly in this group - will make up the final listing and you will have four to review and four other participants will review you.
Welcome to the Review Group!

I want to submit my book for this round. It's a children's book but I was told to submit to the Novella round. I have reviewed a few books before.
/book/show/4...

Everyone interested, please note that you should provide your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ link, one that allows others to send you a Personal Message (PM, i.e., make sure NOT to give a link to a profile that has been designated private)
- as well as a link to your book. This is where our reviews will be posted.

My Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Author link /author/show...
and link to my non-fiction/parenting book
Thank You

This review round will start when we get 10 participants and books to review and be reviewed.

I'd like to join with my latest children's fantasy novella, Dragon Kingdom & The Wishing Stone.
/book/show/4...
Thank you,
Stacie

The list may be shuffled later when we learn more about who has reviewed whom before.

I'd like to join with my Middle Grade Novel, Saving bigfoot Valley.
/book/show/1...
I have reviewed Stacies.

For now, you and Stacie will not review each other. It may become necessary for you to review some other book by Stacie.
You might want also to set up a link to your book in Amazon - you know, in the event those who review you wish to post their review on Amazon. Note the "rules" on this matter.

THANKS FOR THE INFO.
HERE IS THE AMAZON LINK

The Kindle and paperback link will be available from the weekend on Amazon, and I will make other e-versions available on request. I have not reviewed any other novellas.

Cameron.

You are most welcome, but we need a link to your book in Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ as well as in Amazon.
Participants in this group must post two reviews of each book - usually in Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and Amazon.
I look forward to adding you and your book to our list!
p.s. "S.D." Thanks for the link to your book in Amazon. Nice cover - you might want to update the link in Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ for the book.

I've reviewed Stacie before, but not this book.
No one on the list has reviewed me.

Hi, Rebecca. We'd love to have you. Please check out the first message in this thread. Then let us know what book of yours you'd like the others to review.
You will have to review four books. Your book should be listed on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ as well as on Amazon.

I'd like to join this round if possible. The book title is Sick Amour and its written under a pseudonym of mine.

I don't see any clashes with the books included thus far.
Thanks,

S.D., thanks for the heads up.
It is forbidden by Amazon rules for those who have reviewed someone to BE reviewed by that someone. This may result in some shuffling of participants as this round fills up.
We are getting there!

I have set up the book in GR: /book/show/4...
And the Amazon links:
- Paperback
- Kindle
I can also make the book available in other formats for whomever I am matched with.
C-

Thanks for putting up the Amazon links - that will be helpful when reviews have to be posted. In message 1 of this "thread," I left the Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ link for the same reason.

Cameron, glad we sorted that out.
We need two more!

Thanks Hock, I'll contact Rhian

Please do click on the link for your name and for your book Harry Moon to check that I've done them correctly.
Just One more!
I'm not sure if this is even possible because Stacie, Cearuil, Rhian, and Elizabeth have all reviewed me, (but not this book) and I have reviewed S.D. Brown. But I just finished in the general round, and my book, a kids' book, has just over 20,000 words.

You are right, this sounds too challenging.
I'm sorry and hope you'll find another group soon.
Best wishes, Hock

I think we have a group now. I have added myself in at no.3 in the first message in this thread.
My book is Agamemnon Must Die.
If those who will read me have reviewed this, please check out The Chinese Spymaster
Everybody, please note you cannot review anyone who has reviewed you - that is a conflict. You can review someone you have reviewed before but must review a different book.
Please check the list in message 1 and note that you will review the four authors listed after you - no. 1 will review no. 2, 3, 4, 5. Ya-di ... ya-da.
No. 10 will review no. 1, 2, 3, 4, I hope this is clear.
Let me know immediately if there is a conflict. If not, we can begin this round on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

As it stands I can read the books assigned to me without issue, except I will need to read your other book, Chinese Spymaster, as you foreshadowed.
All the best everyone,

Hi Hock I have read this book of yours but am happy to review one of your other books if that helps. I don't think I have any other conflicts in this group.

Thank you for reminding me that you have reviewed me and therefore I cannot review you!
I'll have to revise the list before putting it up ...

Please read the set-up below carefully and let me know if there are any conflicts or if I screwed something up ASAP. Otherwise, the dates below hold!

If you pull out after the start date for any reason, you must find someone to do your reviews. Please do not ask the moderator(s) to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.
It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their readers in a format the reviewer can manage. It is the reviewer's responsibility to provide working email addresses. Everyone must be able to provide and accept PDF. Consider Smashwords (a website) and Calibre (software) that provide free and easy conversion.
Please communicate by personal message to exchange email addresses and use the email addresses to exchange your books. Some have found "friending" others in the group facilitates these messages.
All reviews must be posted to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. We also encourage members to post on amazon - US, UK or CAN. When you have posted your reviews, please post the LINKS to your REVIEWS, not to the book page in this thread.
Postings to other sites are by agreement between author and reviewer.
To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addresses from this open forum).
Happy reviewing, everyone.

my ebook file for the future rounds . I believe she has messaging turned off. If you could turn it on or message me so i can send my book to you befoe the second round starts . Thank you, Dalton

It is everyone's responsibility to make sure that the link we have to your name leads to a profile that will accept messages!
Authors will generally try to contact you in their eagerness to get their books to you - but you need to provide a working Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ link!
Best wishes.

I have already reviewed Rhian Waller a few times so she cannot review me. I understand that it will be very difficult for you to try and change the schedule so please don't worry about it. I will have three reviews for While the Bombs Fell and will do my four reviews.
Have a lovely day.
Robbie

I have bought your books so you don't need to send them to me.
Kind regards
Robbie

I don't understand what the problem is... I've received 6 other messages in the last day... but I plan to buy your book anyway... have you remembered to check the "i'm not a robot" before sending?.

Robbie, thanks for being so gracious about the conflict with Rhian (message 45). This is why, by the way, everyone should tell the group admin for each round as early as possible if you have reviewed anyone - to avoid review conflicts.
It is best to report both those you have reviewed and received reviews from, but it is easier to remember (for me anyway) those you have reviewed.

Amazon rules state that authors/publishers are not allowed to supply published books in return for reviews on Amazon. To comply with this rule, we don’t insist members review on Amazon, but we do insist that every participant in the round has the capacity to leave a review on their local Amazon store, so we all start with the same options.
The founding principle of the group is honest, non-reciprocal reviews, so please help maintain the integrity of the group by letting us know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group and do check back as the group fills to report any clashes.
Usually, places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
This is a Novella round and books submitted must be under 46,000 words. Fiction, nonfiction, and poetry accepted.
Now for the boring stuff, but please read it, as it saves a lot of time if everyone is on the same wavelength.
Before signing up below with your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ author and Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ book link in the thread below, please ensure that:
1. You have enough time to read and review 4 books within the 8 weeks of time allowed.
2. Your book is NOW available for sale on Amazon (not pre-order).
3. Drafts are not acceptable. This is your problem, not that of the reviewers or the groups.
4. You can submit reviews to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and Amazon.
Amazon allows only those people who have spent $50 in the last year to leave reviews in each of their stores. If you are unsure about your Amazon reviewer status, try posting a ‘test review before signing up. If you are unable to post reviews on Amazon, please do not sign up.
5. You can provide (and accept) at least PDF files.
You are not expected or required to buy the books you are allocated to review, but as this will give a ‘Verified Purchase review on Amazon, it is welcomed when you choose to do so. Many authors have books available via KU and others might provide smashwords coupons. Most authors can provide mobi and/or epub files directly by email. Please note: International Copyright laws apply. You cannot sell, or give away any book you have received without the author’s express permission.
6. You have completed your reading if you are currently in another review round in this group. You can be involved in the ‘one for one list while you are in this round.
7. You have a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ author profile set up before you join.
8. Your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ profile must allow people to message you, i.e. your profile is not set to private.
9. You declare any relationship you have with another member in the round. Amazon will not allow reviews from the same household on the same book or if you are an editor, relative or close friend of another member.
10. You agree that your reviews will be unbiased and honest, whatever the star rating, and you will try to avoid ‘spoilers. i.e. giving away the finale of a book.
11. You will not ask a fellow author to change a review of your book because you don’t agree with it. If you think you have a legitimate concern, talk to the mod of your round, NOT the other author. Personal attacks, or pressurizing other members WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and will result in you being blacklisted.
Please note:
We all want reviews, its why we joined the group. It is bad taste to expect other people to review your book and then not do the same for other people in the group. People that Do Not Finish and/or don’t post reviews will find it difficult to get into a subsequent group.
Please do not leave any kind of disclaimer in your review. Reviews that state you received a copy ‘in return for a review, for example, will probably be removed by amazon.com.
Your Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ details and the rounds you participate in may be recorded by the admin mod on a database. We do not retain details of email addresses etc.
Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate personal preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.
The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honorably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please go to this thread:
/topic/show/...
In other words, let your review be about the book, its writing, etc. and NOT about you, the reviewer.
It is permissible to review an author again if a different book is available. It is not permissible to review anyone who has reviewed you.
If you need anything clarified please ask, either by Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ personal message to the admin mod or on the thread below, before signing up. It’s a pain to have to keep rearranging the list because people haven’t read the above.
The admin mod for this reading group will be:
