Michele I'll nominate The Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass. It's the first book in a trilogy, very good epic fantasy and I never see anyone talk about it.

If this is a book of short stories then it wont count. However if all members are willing we may do a short story special in January so hold that thought!

The hollow march
The forge of darkness
Deerskin
illmade mute
The city
The folding knife

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 772 comments There are several I've been wanting to read...so narrowing it down can be a trick. I'll nominate Age of Iron Age of Iron by Angus Watson .

message 22: by Florian (last edited Oct 07, 2014 01:13PM) (new)

Florian I would like to nominate a lot of books, yet since most of them have already been read I will nominate Dragonsbane instead and second The Forge of Darkness.

*Edit: if possible, may I split my second in two and give the other half to Age of Iron? I mean.. druids!

message 23: by Mark (new)

Mark Lawrence (marklawrence) | 117 comments I'll nominate Stella Gemmell's, The City:

/book/show/1...

I'll second Herald of the Storm

Emmett (emmett13) nomination:
Unwrapped Sky (Caeli-Amur, #1) by Rjurik Davidson Unwrapped Sky
Minotaurs everyone... MINOTAURS!!!

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 772 comments I'll second The City

message 26: by Kelila (new)

Kelila I'll nominate Deerskin by Robin McKinley. :]

message 27: by Maria (new)

Maria I'll second Deerskin. Just a note- it is listed as YA, but it's also listed as adult, so I'm not sure if it'll count or not. Personally, I consider it more of an adult book because of some of its themes.

message 28: by Kelila (new)

Kelila Oops! What do you think, Bev?

message 29: by Maria (new)

Maria Also, I'll nominate The Ill-Made Mute.

message 30: by Melissa (new)

Melissa J. Katano I'd like to nominate Shattering the Ley by Joshua B. Palmatier.....I read it when it came out in July and I think there are a lot of good discussion points in it....(nominating on mobile...can't figure out how to link the book--sorry!)

message 32: by Melissa (new)

Melissa J. Katano Yes! Thank you, Mike....

Melissa (missykw) Maria wrote: "Also, I'll nominate The Ill-Made Mute."

I've be meaning to pick up this one!

message 34: by Michele (new)

Michele Just a heads up - Ill-Made Mute isn't available as an ebook that I know of.

message 35: by George (new)

George Lightgood How about The Magician’s Land?

message 36: by Alissa (new)

Alissa | 220 comments The Ill-Made Mute is available for kindle (ASIN: B004TSAQYY), I second it.
I'd like to nominate the The Folding Knife by K.J. Parker, I'm really looking forward to try a book by Parker.

message 37: by Bev (new)

Bev (greenginger) | 744 comments I will pick up your posts later today. Uk time. Currently decorating. I wkll have a look at the disputed YA book too.

message 38: by Michele (new)

Michele I see you are in Italy - we don't have it in the US :(

I had to search several used bookstores to find new copies after foolishly trading mine in a few years ago.

message 39: by Michele (new)

Michele Deerskin has about the same YA votes as Half a King. Just for comparison.

I agree it deals with extremely dark subject matter. While I love it, it is a difficult read (emotionally).

message 40: by Michele (new)

Michele I'll second The Folding Knife. I love Parker and haven't read this one yet.

message 41: by Alissa (last edited Oct 08, 2014 05:12AM) (new)

Alissa | 220 comments Michele wrote: "I see you are in Italy - we don't have it in the US :("
Yes, but I'm a registered user of Amazon.com, I cannot shop ebooks from the IT store. I'm confused now, is not working for US people? Anyway I've just noticed there's another asin B002SQ5AVS. Thanks for seconding The Folding Knife, it looks intriguing!

message 42: by W. (new)

W. Tinkanesh (wfreedreamertinkanesh) I would like to suggest

Ladies and Gentlemen of Fantasy 2014 by LG Anthologies

Ladies and Gentlemen of Fantasy 2014

Blurb:
Over 400 pages, twelve stories, and covering almost every sub-genre of Fantasy fiction. This book contains a whole slew of excitement and adventure. Featuring: Erich Johnson, John H. Howard, Kerry Morgan, Steven L. Shrewsbury, Joel Turpin and River Wolf.

message 43: by Michele (new)

Michele Yeah, I can't use that link. I think it has to do with the official address on either your account or credit card.

message 44: by Мирела (last edited Oct 08, 2014 09:11AM) (new)

Мирела Стефанова (fairodis) I would like to suggest The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski

Geralt of Rivia is a witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin. And a cold-blooded killer.
His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world. But not everything monstrous-looking is evil and not everything fair is good. . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.

The first book of awesome series!

If this is a compilation then we dont do them. If its short stories then nominate it in Jan when we will be doing a short story one off.

Hi which book are you referring to ?

message 47: by Bev (new)

Bev (greenginger) | 744 comments Maria wrote: "Also, I'll nominate The Ill-Made Mute."

This may be difficult to locate. There is a kindle version here in the UK but an actual book may be more problematic. That said I am willing to include it unless anyone expresses issues.

message 48: by Bev (new)

Bev (greenginger) | 744 comments Deerskin appears to have very adult themes and has won an adult award so I will let it pass.
