I just saw that Dark Places is coming out as a movie starring Charlize Theron, wasn't that a possible read for us?

At one point we talked about reading the remaining 2 books by Gillian Flynn.

we can definitely read them if you guys want to. When does the movie come out? Maybe we can time it right.

I just saw a little blurp that is suppose to be even better than . I didn't' read the article in case there were spoilers.

So the movie came out on June 18th... did it not go into Theatres? It says it'll be available everywhere on August 7th.

We've been talking about this one for awhile.. we should definitely read this one soon.

Oh man! Gone Girl was an insane but good read/watch, I'll be interested to read and watch Dark Places then.

How was everyone's Labor day??

My Labor Day was pretty uneventful. But I finished a book and didn't have to go to work so that is always a plus!

I'd take that as a win!

Mine was relaxing. No work so we went to a festival for a little and then just hung out at home after.

Ours was relaxing as well. It's my husband and I's wedding anni today so we celebrated a bit this weekend. We also announced we're expecting our second little too, so that was fun!

Is anyone dressing up for Halloween this year?

My husband and I were invited to a costume party, we're going as Mary Poppins and Bert. It's a quiet costume, but being noticeably pregnant I felt there was an appropriateness level I should stay under lol.

That'll be super cute though!

Mary Poppins is actually my favorite musical character so it will be fun! And easy as we have pretty much everything we'll need.

That's awesome! And it should be really easy to put together, which is the best way to make a costume.

I agree, right now I'm pretty low maintenance but I also like a really elaborate costume, those are super fun too!

I was just wondering what Halloween/trick or treating was like in other parts. I am in UT and we used to get tons of kids at my house, talking like 5-600 kids, this year maybe 50ish. Huge drop, I know that a lot of stores do stuff and they do trunk or treat as well (people gather in a parking lot and they give out stuff from cars) Is this the same elsewhere or just a UT thing?

This year, we had absolutely no kids... my street seems to be a dead zone. Nobody turns their light on. At least last year we had a few..

I live in WA, we get a lot in our neighborhood as it's connected to a couple other neighborhoods. This year though we took our daughter out so we weren't home but saw a ton of kids while we were out. I do think the trunk or treat and indoor/retail trick or treating is becoming more and more popular due to safety concerns and weather. I still think it's fun to go to house to house though!

It was good but so cold out. We had canyon winds that kept us hostage inside.
