Nilendra Fonseka | 3 comments Hi everyone,

I'm Nilendra! I'm from Sydney Australia :)

I've been a life long reader and writer (and occasional filmmaker). I really can't get enough of storytelling in any form. Thanks for having me in the group, I'm looking forward to diving into books I may not have come across otherwise and discuss them with the community. Really looking forward to being involved!

Tearshiani Glass (tearshianiglass) | 5 comments Oh, right now I've been reading Quackery: A brief history of the worst ways to cure everything. (It's a fun little read that I thought might help with research) and then I've been reading a choice your own adventure called Weyrwood. How about yourself?

I had no idea that Altered Carbon show was based on a book. I'll have to watch it now. Looking forward to knowing what you thought of the book.
And thanks. Hugs back to you!

Larissa (larissaslibrary) Hi all!

My name is Larissa and I'm from South Lake Tahoe, but currently living in the Central Valley for school. I just switched from a Geology major to an English major (woot woot!). I have been reading since I was little, but became an avid reader in my young adult years.

As a Geology major, my time was spent full of awesome science stuff, but my brain was so fried at the end of every day I couldn't read much. But now, look out world, I'm coming for you books! I am really trying to branch out and read different things. I usually read YA and horror/thriller.

I am also very excited to get back into writing. When I became a STEM major, I tossed all of my writing. I am devastated about it, but I guess that just means I have to write more to make up for what I lost.

I look forward to getting to know all of you! Have a beautiful day!

Hey! I'm Mar and j am 14 yrs old To cut it short I am a massive book worm/dragon! I only got into books a little while ago due to me falling IN LOVE with the Shadowhunters chronicles. Since then my interest in literature has increased and i am now part of a book club called Rosende Reads. This is by an actor who was in the tv make of the Shadowhunters books, Alberto Rosende.
Since I have joined I have, not only been interested in fantasy, romantic books like Shadowhunters, but also very dark fiction like The Handmaid's Tale, 1984 and my current read at the moment, The Hate U Give.

I'm Stine, a 34 year old muggle from Norway. I picked up a book when I was 5, and haven't stopped reading since. My jam is mostly fantasy, spiced with contemporary romance or angsty books in between. I also love graphic novels. My favorite authors are TJ Klune and Neil Gaiman. Other interests are working out, crocheting and using too much money on....never mind...there is no such thing as too much money on books... *lol*

Hello, Mohan. Nice to have you here. I'm an author myself, though I write thriller/horror fiction.
You're an initiated priest? I'm a Hindu so lemme know if it's okay to call you Pandit Ji (I wouldn't want to offend you by addressing you by your first name.) And this si so cool! I've never met a Hindu priest who writes romance novels. So it's really great to meet you.
And as Cheryl said, you can post about your book(s) on our dedicated thread for authors.
Happy Reading!

I'm Lynn, I have a 30 minute train ride to and from work and books are the only way I get through it! I primarily read mystery and psychological thrillers, but lately I have been branching out into other genres. I aspire to be a book nerd, but have little time to acquire true nerd status.

Cassie (cassienovareads) | 1 comments Hi all!

I'm Cassie! I'm a 26 year old bank teller who also works part time in retail. I live in Maryland, but I'm originally from Michigan! I love books, music, movies, video games, and animals. I've got a Bachelor's of Science in Zoology, and one day my dream is to do behavioral research on whales or dolphins.

I love reading fiction, romance, science fiction, fantasy, and the occasional thriller! My favorite tends to be either really good fantasy, or something along the lines of a romantic comedy that just leaves you feeling sappy and good.

I really love Kingdom Hearts, Assassin's Creed, World of Warcraft, and Final Fantasy if we shift to video games, and enjoy reading the lore and stuff behind all of that.

In 2019, I am trying to read more and get back into the groove that I lost while I was in college, when reading felt like a chore because I did it so much for classes.

Hoping to meet some new friends and discover new books and discuss them with everyone! Hope you all are having a fantastic week so far, can't believe the end of the year is almost here!!

message 485: by Tina (new)

Tina (tinatome) Hey, everyone! I'm Tina. I'm 25 in my head, lol. If you need/want friends, feel free to add me. I have always been a reader. I'm that kid that teachers always yelled at to put away the book and pay attention. Playing outside was a punishment growing up. The first time I got in trouble for staying up reading was because I laughed out loud at the cat and castor oil scene in Huck Finn. I love SciFi, Fantasy, and YA.

I'm a mom of two girls (16 and 18) who both like reading, but not as much as I wish they did. I'm engaged to a very non-nerdy guy who is learning what it's like to be with a fan girl/geek/nerdy chick. My goal in life is to be independently wealthy so I don't have to work anymore and can just read all I want, lol.

LOL But I have a pretty good boss that gives me lots of perks and may get fresh with me once in awhile. But not to worry since he's my husband. :D I will read anything that is well written and holds my interest. The older I get the more of a book snob I have become. Life is too short to read bad books I think. :) My favorite genres are literary fiction and memoirs. But I have a soft spot for YA and chick lit. I would love to get to know some other readers. One of my favorite things in the whole world is discussing books.

And don't worry about being a true nerd, you read whenever you can find the time (no matter how much time it is) so you're anyway there. Hey Cassie, welcome to RMFAO. I love playing Assasin's Creed too though I'm yet to play the others you mentioned. I also love Heavenly Sword and God Of War is my absolute favourite! I'm a thriller junkie and read dark fiction like there's no tomorrow. Though, I do love a good romance novel with a good storyline and strong characters. DO share some of your favourite romance titles, it'll be good to read something new in 2019.

Thanks for the rec. Can you name 1 or 2 books where I should start with her books?
I'm into psychological thrillers, mysteries and apocalyptic and horror fiction. My absolute favourite is Stephen King though, I like the kind of fiction he writes (at least the early books he wrote.) My favourites by him are Duma Key and Pet Sematary and some of his short stories.
Though as you're into literary fiction, might I recommend A Boy's Life (if you already haven't read it.) It is not particularly literary fiction, but a beautifully written book that is one of my all time favourites! Other than these I loved Dark Places and Sharp Objects (Gone Girl is good too but these two are better works by Flynn.)
