Book: The Dirt on Ninth Grave by Darynda Jones
Read: 9/28/19
Rated: 5 stars
Review: This was great! Charley lost her memory due to her trama which I get because I would have lost it too but we al, have to do what needs to be done to protect the ones we love. Which is what her famiky and friemds do for her. They're giving her space to remember but her natural instints are still with her. Of course she finds trouble. A fun read.

Clementine Johns, a bank teller, was found on the street, almost dead and the attack left her with retrograde amnesia. When someone recognizes Clem's tattoo as the work of Larsen and sons, Clem ends up finding her ex boyfriend tattoo artist Ed Larsen. Ed was NOT happy to see Clem and but he was an avenue for her to reclaim her the last few years of her life, I mean, they were in love and lived together.
But how do you stroll down memory lane with an ex who seemingly can't stand the very sight of you?
This story was very interesting. Clem was like a grown baby, in that she didn't know what she liked and had to relearn almost everything and everyone. Each person Clem came in contact with shared memories that she felt no connection to but there was an emotional turmoil nonetheless.
I enjoyed this story because Clem got a chance to be a better version of herself. It was like a snake shedding it's old skin and revealing the new skin. I was on pins and needles wondering what would happen once the old memories resurface? What a fun ride watching Clementine earn her way back into her old life but as a new person. The writing kept me engaged the entire time. Definitely one of the best stories I have listened to this year.

I love this one on audio"
I've read the book many times. I've never thought about listening to the audio book. Are there two different narrators for Sam and Grace's voices?

Review: I enjoyed how Sam showed that she as tough as nails and her reasons for whatbshe does. She's definitely kick-ass heroine but when she's asked to be tested to see if she can hack it being part of the Grand High Master Army the guys aren't too happy especially Jared. Things between them are super heated in both in and out of testing. It was a good start and I'll continue this series to see how it goes.

Well I liked it more that Vlad’s story but not nearly as much as I enjoyed Crispin’s (Cat & Bones) journey.
Ian is a cheeky guy just like Spade and Bones and he is living his best worst life since he only has about two years left thanks to the deal with Daigon where Ian forfeited his soul.
The law guardian Veritas came to find Ian in hopes to use him to kill Diagon Veritas was a creature of unknown power and origin (which we find out later) and she intrigues Ian.
The verbal sparring is quite funny at times but there is profound sadness at the heart of both characters. Slowly they begin revealing their secrets and a bond is created.
Veritas and Ian set out to destroy the creature who has siphoned ofd a piece of their souls piece by piece.
What I liked was multiple appearances by old favorites like Mencheres, Bones and crew. I loved the story we learned of Ian’s biological family including his real name. I enjoyed the pace of the story and how it flowed.
What I didn’t like was the narrator Tavia Gilbert. I am positive I would have enjoyed this one more If I had read it.

Review: I love this book. There's something about the language and vocabulary that the author used. It's more poetry than prose. It transcends the plot and becomes larger. Beautiful.

I hope you continue with the series. Are you doing the audio?

I've never been brave enough to read the next book in the series. I like the way Shiver ends. I'm worried that the next story will mess it up or the writing style won't be similar to the poetical language the author used in the first book.
And, nope, I just read it this time. I listened to a sample of the audio book. I liked the voices. Maybe next time?

I'm going to read Eclipse Bay by Jayne Ann Krentz. It's shelved once as 'Auto Buy'.

Review: I really enjoyed the book so much more than the movie, not that the movie was bad but books have so much more. I can't wait to read the next book. I so need to see what happens next and how Ruby will continue her journey. There's so much I want to know with all the characters. Their powers are quite interesting. I would definitely want her power. I think she's a strong girl and we shall see it more in the next book.

This was an okay beginning to a new series. I liked the depth to the plot and the complexity of the characters. I just found the story to be slow and it kind of dragged.
Judith Worth was suddenly thrust into the role of caretaker when her father and brother were accused of being traitors. Her brother’s best friend Christian testified and was crucial to the conviction. Judith has to pick the slack as they were financially ruined and the girls were left without any Marriage prospects.
Years later Christian came back into their lives and wanted to right some wrongs that his testimony caused, but Judith wouldn’t allow him. Judith was caught between her anger and affection for Christian, plus the weight of her responsibilities to her siblings. It just made the love story take a back seat. There were two people with some sort of OCD or another disorder, they had some habits that could be perceived as amusing and quirky but it didn’t resonate with me. I would have loved some more happy and lighter moments.
I did like Judith and Christian’s relationship because there was a genuine affection and patience there. They fit together so it was a satisfying ending to their painful journey.

Review: I don't think there's anything new I can say about this book (or this series) that others haven't already said. It's awesome. It's incredible. I just love Dina, Sean, Arland, Maud, the Chef, Lady Caldenia. Helen is cuteness defined :)

This audiobook was everything. Dianne Duvall wrote an ah-mazing story and Kirsten Potter delivered an ah-mazing narration. Now it should be said that this one lasted 17 hours and 16 minutes, so it was much longer than the other book, but everything was necessary.
This book had action, suspense, mystery, romance, family, humor and most of all, a happy ending for our heroes. Seth's story was so intense. It is one of those books you can't put down. If you have been following the story, then you know the showdown with Gershom would be epic. I loved the battle, I loved the loyalty and camaraderie between the Immortal Guardians, and the word play was so clever.
I don't know the kind of woman I wanted for Seth, but Leah Somerson was just right. For such a powerful being, a simple yet strong woman who was comfortable with all of Seth's quirks and responsibilities was the only way to go. It was fun seeing such a seriously stoic guardian let his hair down and let love in. It was brilliant because the romance didn't overshadow the plot which the author has been building for the past several books. It worked in concert with saving humanity, and it was an angst-filled journey. A lot of questions were answered in this installment and it wrapped up certain storylines, but there is more mysteries to uncover in this series, and I can't wait.
This book was worth the wait.

Review: Merry left the high court of the Faerie and went into hiding from her aunt because she's been trying to kill her and Merry doesn't understand why. Until a crazy rape case causes Merry to return to the craziness of the Faerie only to find out that she's needed for something important but not sure what is it. She returns but what she finds out is not what she expects. I find all this to be the weirdest mix and I need to see what happens next because I think there is more going on than what the aunt is saying and I just need to know what. LOL
