Andrew | 1005 comments I thought this might prove an interesting thread ? Last night I finished Val McDermids 5th Tony Hill book and at one point said profiler goes into his deceased dad's house and looks at his bookshelves and sees some crime novels including James Sallis, Charles Willeford and Ken Bruen. I was at the library today and picked up two books by the former two and they look like interesting hard boiled American crime. Earlier this another book mentioned the Tolstoy short story the Kreutzer Sonata and I have put it on my TBR list. AS I asay I keep coming across this so would be intrigued if anyone has had similar recommendations or even gone the extra mile and read the subsequent book? Another example was Stuart Maconie on his book about tour of northern britain 'Pies and Predjudice' picked up in a chester second hand bookshop the horror stories of Robert Aikerman and I have always been on the lookout for his work since. Anyway happy reading and hope to pique some interest.

That's annoying rhian, only ever read koontz once but imagine it completely different to Agatha Christie. Roger ackroyd is one book that you don't want to know the ending.
