Novel Books & Reading Challenges is an all ages group. So, the need to keep it clean and respectful is one of our major concerns.

We also try to be as fair as possible. So, for the duration of the Tower Teams Challenge, we're going to allow buddy reads for books with adult content, in a reserved space, out of range of underage members. Kinda like the back rooms of the old video stores.

Rules & How To
�� Post your request in this thread. All requests on the "regular" buddy read requests thread will be deleted

��NO COVERS ALLOWED - please choose "link" when using the add book tool or write the name & author of the book.

�� Once you have a buddy, and the buddy read is approved, you will receive an invite(*) for the NBRC's back room buddy reads group.

�� Check message #2 for an index of the approved back room buddy reads.

Funny story about the above....that whole show was filmed in my high school and hometown.

Not sure if I'm in a right thread but Captivated by You by Sylvia Day is scheduled to release in November and I'm looking for a buddy to read it in December.

Is Sylvia Day good? I've seen her books pop up more and more (no pun intended) and I am intrigued

I think her writing style is pretty good. The Crossfire series is very similar to the FSoG but much better IMHO. If you are into dysfunctional relationships, drama and darker erotica, she is one of the best, I guess.

Although it has been hit and miss with me inside this series (I pretty much hated the ending of the second book), I just need to know how these two wackos make their marriage work.

I'm not overly impressed with Sylvia Day. I really liked In Flight and The Submissive, if we're discussing that genre.

I have a quick question...

First let me say "THANK YOU!" I'm not complaining at all and I see and highly respect the need to separate the threads. My question is, how do we decide which thread to list our request? Adult material means different things to different people. For example, I see Outlander in the other BR thread, but it definitely contains adult material. Is there a guide or rating system we could refer to? Should we go case by case and ask if we aren't sure?

One of my requests, Magic Bleeds, is shelved as "adult." If it needs to be moved here when we are ready to start the thread, I have no objections. I just don't want to offend anyone or be a pain to the mods. : )

Thanks so much for all you do! NBRC is a GREAT group and I appreciate all the hard work the mods have put into it to make it fun for the rest of us!

Good question. Anything that is classified as erotica, or has an heavy adult content goes here.

Outlander or Sookie Stackhouse are safe enough for the regular thread. We already did a Kate Daniels reading, so she's also on the other thread.

I think is best to go case by case. When in doubt post it here and if we see fit, we'll move it :-)

I never read The Submissive but I did read In Flight and really liked it.

Outlander has some racy bits, should it be in the back room?

Poisonous Toadstools seem to be lots of suspense/murder mystery fans. But we can't just buddy read within our group. Does anyone want to read: Indelible or XO or Dexter By Design. Don't think all of these should be back room

I liked the In Flight series, and enjoyed the spinoff series that started with Bad Things.

I'd be interested in doing a Buddy Read on The Submissive possibly.

I'll consider reading Captivated by You but I still haven't read Entwined with You. If I can get that in before late December, I'll join the read starting 12/27.

I'll do The Submissive I just picked it up at the library today because I was curious about it. Just let me know when you want to start. I know in order to count for the challenge we have to finish it on or after Nov.8th but whenever you want I'm good. I've never read Bad Things I have to look into that one :)

Sure...since you picked it up from the library, I'm not sure how long you can have the book for. I've got November kind of booked now with other books TBR, so I'm not sure if you'd be willing to wait until December or if that's too long on the book. I aplogize I didn't mention that before! If not, I could possibly shift some other reads around and do it in November so let me know. Thanks!

How do we get this listed as an "official" BR? If that date works for you, Red Baron do you approve it and list it, then invite us to the group? Thanks for confirming...I haven't done a BR before so any suggestions/explanation is appreciated!

I've had that happen to me when I've accepted an invite for a group I'm already a member of. Try getting to the back room through the groups tab.

I would also like to read The Submissive. Can you add me to the group?
