Final thoughts, and reviews if you like, on Dissolution (Matthew Shardlake, #1) by C.J. Sansom Dissolution by C.J. Sansom

Kylie H | 1232 comments Really enjoyed this book and looking forward to more in this series. Great balance between being historical fiction and a murder mystery, had me completely hooked.

I loved this whole series Kylie and as you say the balance of history and mystery is great. Matthew is an interesting character who really grows on you. They are all big books but really worth reading:)

Kylie H | 1232 comments I found Matthew a bit irritating in this first novel. He seemed to get quite jealous of his young assistant which was understandable but his reactions and constant pain was a bit annoying. However, I found that I had faith in Matthew as a fair and honest man who could see his own weaknesses.

He is an honest man in a world of dishonesty. I don't recall whether I liked him much in the first book or not! Too long ago:)

PattyMacDotComma | 809 comments I really enjoyed this one and found him very human. Always uncomfortable but his pain never stopped his mind from turning over all the things that puzzle him. Mind over matter!
I just finished book #3 but here's my review of this one.
