Andree Sanborn (meeyauw) Enlightening Symbols: A Short History of Mathematical Notation and Its Hidden Powers by Joseph Mazur

I finally saw that "add" thingy, so now I have done it right. :-)

L. Riofrio | 4 comments The Speed of Light is a timely suggestion given this year's interest in the BICEP2 fiasco and the "Interstellar" movie's search for an equation of gravity. Perhaps the equation can be found in this book, an enlightening read.

Vish Wam (vishwamsankaran) | 14 comments 1.Missing Microbes: How killing Bacteria creates modern plagues- Martin Blaser.
If you are interested know, why theres an increased incidence of asthma, food allergies, autism, obesity and other disorders on the rise. Get to know the other unaccounted side of antibiotics overuse/misuse.
2.The Hidden Connections: A Science for sustainable living. For all who were transfixed on Nolan's Interstellar. We might not need another planet. We just need to know how we can fix ours. This book details whats direly wrong with our current social order. Kindles the systems thinker in you. Starts from the origin of life, mind, society and presents how the framework behind each of these complex networks can be correlated. The book to inspire you to build a better earth! Being an Indian I deeply follow Eastern Philosophies. This work has brought my mind to a level that helps me understand the core of my scripture 'The Bhagavad Gita' better!
3. Snoop: What your stuff says about you by Sam Gosling. The book I have been looking for all my life!!! If you have been trying to hone your skills of deduction, this book will set you in the right path! stirs out the Sherlock in you! It details the knowledge you need to perform efficient deduction! Sam Gosling- At your feet!
yaa...thats pretty much these buks and how i wud express them ;-)

Ray Zimmerman Here is one I recently enjoyed. The book was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in general nonfiction, 2013. Title is The Forest Unseen. Author is David George Haskell, University of the South, Sewanee, Tennessee.

Lindsay Miller | 11 comments I finally posted my review of an excellent book I read this summer, Life in the Cold: An Introduction to Winter Ecology. Perfect timing for a group read?

Then there's The Hidden Forest: The Biography of an Ecosystem about an old-growth forest in the Pacific Northwest, which I started last year and would appreciate a group kick to keep reading. The first few pages were good and it has amazing reviews, nearly all 4 and 5 stars.

For nominee number three... looks like this group hasn't read The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History yet.
