For colors: The cover has to be at least 50%

For Shelves: Any book on the given shelf
For Publication Years: I'll be using how GR has it's publication date listed.
For Authors Names: The first, middle, or last name of the author is ok.

I was going to say the same thing - some thing is up with Mr Randomizer, lol

Sheila you sound like Ezi! She's on team 1 at SSS and has already made jokes about it being fitting.

I like " the ones to beat" for a team name.

I take part in way too many reading challenges both here on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and on the net.
I am not interested in being captain.

Wow! You are doing both? Way more guts than I have, that is for sure. Hopefully most of your books can be used for both SS and SSS.

The only name I came up with has nothing to do with books or #1
ATOMIC TANGERINES
Don't ask me why, but it just tickles my fancy.
As for me ... I'm married, no kids, no pets. Live in Wisconsin, where I work in healthcare administration. Not a huge fan of series, but I have my spreadsheet already prepared and have books on hand for any possible roll from 2-12 ...

Anyway, if no one else would like to be captain, I will be happy to do that for us. I hope everyone is excited to get started.
SO Team 1 will henceforth be known as â— The Ones to Beat! â— and I'll be the captain of the winning team!
I'll be posting the roll by 9 am US Central Time every week.

Thanks Jenne. I was blessed with the greatest mother in law ever. I lost my mom over 25 years ago so my mother in law filled a lot of that gap for me.

And we are off!! I hope everyone is as excited to get started as I am. I'm not seeing any chatter so it makes me a little nervous.
On November 14 â— The Ones to Beat! â— rolled a 6 moving us to spot 6.
Alternate Item - 6. Cover Item Tree(s)
Please post a link as to what you plan on reading this week so I can work on the linking post.

Week 1 - Rolled 6 - Now on Spot 6
I'm reading: Alternate - cover item: Tree(s)

The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly

No go ahead and post your reviews in a new post that way I get notified when a new post comes in. There are advantages both ways but this time do a new post with your reviews.

I will read Alternate - cover item: Tree(s)

I don't know if any of you like the tv show Castle but this is the series that relates to that show. However since Richard Castle is a fictional character, the real author remains a mystery. I think it is a really clever concept and the books are surprisingly well done whoever writes them. I suspect James Patterson.

I read Alternate - cover item: Tree(s)

Date Finished: 11/14-14
Rating: ***
Review:
This was okay. A cosy, quick read. I liked Emily, the shy, insecure woman but I also very much liked her friends Grace and Lynn. Quinn was okay and I liked that we heard a little of his background too and how he started running track.

Finished 11/16 ✿✿✿✿
This is # 6 in the Nikki Heat series by fictional/mystery (as in who really writes these books) by fictional character Richard Castle. These are a spinoff of the TV show Castle.
In this one Nikki and Rook are trying to solve the crime of how a body fell from the sky. Based in NYC during the days when Hurricane Sandy was approaching the primary subject of their attention is one of the officials in charge of the disaster preparedness team.
I don't know who writes these books but they are always enjoyable. ✿✿✿✿

Week 1 - Rolled 6 - Now on Spot 6
I'm reading: Alternate - cover item: Tree(s)

The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
What a magical, wonderful story! This is a quest, a fairy tale, a horror story, a coming-of-age story, and a psychological study all in one. I love David, and I loved how Connolly incorporated so many life lessons in this imaginative tale. The adventures David has while in this “other land are familiar and yet disturbingly different. Connolly is known as a writer of mystery thrillers, and his skill at writing a fast-paced, suspense-filled narrative shows here. I was immediately engaged in the story and couldn’t put it down.

We just mailed our last thank you note so I think we are finally getting back to normal, at least normal for us. haha
How is everyone else's week going?

Yes, Sheila. I met him at an author event a few years back, but have never read anything by him before. Over on Shelfari our group challenge this month is "fairy tales" - not a genre I typically read, and I was thinking I'd just skip it but then someone mentioned this book and I thought "why not?"

Yes, life will get back to normal ... though, as you already know, there will be reminders when you least expect them.
I ran into a woman who used to serve with me on a school board back in the 1990s at the grocery store on Saturday ... hadn't seen her in over a year. She commented that she had read the obituary about my mother several times and was inspired by her accomplishments. Made me want to call my mother and tell her!

Son of a Ditch (284 p)-- Date Finished: November 17
(* New pick) Roll 1 | Rolled 6| Alt. Cover Item Tree(s)
This story felt like an episode on Dallas. There was insta-romance, family drama and secrets that were spilled. This story is the second book in the Home series by William Neale and can be read as a standalone. I love this book lot more than the first. What I love more about this one is that there was family involved. That the secondary characters were memorable and wasn't there simply for the main couple. They had their own purpose in the story and view. I will most definitely be reading this book again in the future.(4 stars)
