Jonetta, your #3 pick, are they written by Maggie Shayne? What series are they from? What genre is that series in? I've never read any of her work, but have seen her name time and again in favorites lists all over.

The series is Brown and de Luca by Maggie Shayne (I'll update my list to note this). The series, IMO, is best described as a mystery with paranormal and romantic elements. Near the end, the romance ramps up a bit but is still more mystery and paranormal. Rachel is one of the best crafted characters I've come across in quite some time. Her snarky wit makes the series.

Not sure how robust your library is but they're all available in mine. And, the novella is probably still free.
