March 2020 Group Read Nominations

As an addendum to Gretchen's post...
Here's an example of a nomination post:
"I'm nominating my book [book title link] by [author name]."
An example of a seconding post:
"I'm seconding {author]'s book [title]."
That's really all that we need. We will vet the requirements otherwise, and this makes it MUCH easier.
THanks in advance!

Hi Charles, sorry, but your book appears to be a biography, not historical fiction. Books must be HF according to the nomination rules.

Not according to the genres on the book page. Not one person has it listed as Historical fiction, or even fiction. Only as biography or memoir.

Paul, this appears to be #2 in the series. We would need to read #1 first. Want to nominate book 1?
Edit to add - I do see the note on your author page about book 2 being a prequel, but we would read in series order regardless. Just to be clear. :)

For March 2020, there is not going to be a theme for our group read. Instead we are going to take the opportunity to let some of the group authors nominate their own books.
-Nominations must be made by authors. Group members may not nominate a book they have not written or nomination a book for another group member.
-The ONLY thing a nomination post needs is BOOK TITLE and AUTHOR NAME (If you published under a different name, list that). If you can create a link to the book on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, please do so. Personal blogs, book sites, shopping sites, or anything not Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ related are NOT to be included. Posts should NOT include a book synopsis. The thread gets too difficult to monitor. Book title and author only. Posts with any more information will be deleted without warning.
-You may only nominate ONE book.
-Members who are nominating a book still get one second but you CANNOT second your own book. You HAVE to pick a different one.
-While not all members will be able to nominate a book this round, all members have the ability to second a book. Please clearly state that you are seconding a book.
-Existing nomination rules still apply.
-Books in a series will not be counted unless they are the first book or we have already read the previous novels in the series.
-Books must meet the group's definition of historical fiction meaning events of the book must take place 50 years ago or more. Dual timelines or fantasy will not be counted.
-Books need to be published before March 1, 2020 to ensure that members have time to get the book if they wish to participate in the March discussion.
NEW THIS MONTH- All books nominated must be available in multiple formats. Not all of us read paper books. Not all of us have access to e-books. If it cannot be proven that your book is available in multiple formats, your nomination will not be counted. We want all of our group members to be able to participate if they desire.
The complete nomination process procedure can be found here-
/topic/show/...
All previous group reads can be found here-
/group/books...
Nominating authors- Please do not thank someone every time they second your novel. It clogs up the thread and makes it difficult for mods to keep track of what has been nominated and how many seconds to count.
WARNINGS
IF AT ANY POINT MODS SUSPECT THERE IS ANY KIND OF MANIPULATION GOING ON, WE WILL SHUT THIS DOWN.
IF AT ANY POINT MODS HEAR REPORTS OF HARASSMENT, WE WILL SHUT THIS DOWN.
IF AT ANY POINT MODS ARE HARASSED, WE WILL SHUT THIS DOWN.
If mods are forced to shut this down, the group read for March will be a book selected by the mods. Bad behavior will result in removal from the group without warning. As stated before, this thread is on a short leash. Moderators are not obligated to provide a platform for authors to promote their books. This primary focus of this group is the reader. I realize my language may come across as harsh. I should not have to point out that moderators are volunteers. They do not get paid to run these groups. All of us have other things we could be doing, like reading.
