Please introduce yourself and tell us where you are, if you've played UNO, what you like to read, etc.
My name is BarbaraAnn and I think this will be my 3rd year playing UNO. To me, this is one of best team, games because it's pretty low stress. I live in Illinois in the US, so currently stay indoors as much as possible until spring takes hold. I read a bit of everything - fantasy, mystery, science fiction, etc.

I've never played UNO before, but I've played other team reading games in the past. I'm excited to jump into this one!
I have pretty eclectic reading tastes, so I'll read just about anything. I love sci-fi, fantasy, thrillers, mysteries, nonfiction, self-help, biographies, etc. Two genres I don't enjoy are classics and young adult fiction, but just about everything else is fair game.
I'm boarding a cruise ship in a couple of days and I won't have internet access for a week, but I'll be back on February 1st ready to jump in!

I read almost anything, but my preference is towards YA and NA books, especially if there is romance involved. In the past few years I've also learned to enjoy fantasy and paranormal books. My least favorite genres are thrillers and mysteries, so it looks like we have a pretty rounded team with all sorts of preferences. :D
Thank you BarbaraAnn for setting up the spreadsheet. That's the format I think works best because we can all see the possibilities for the books. It makes it so much easier to switch things around. :)

I agree, the spreadsheet is a great way to keep us organized and on track. Thank you BarbaraAnn!
My UNO Shelf: /review/list...

I'd read any book genre, really, but fantasy is what hypes me best!

I'm from Illinois. This is probably my 2nd or 3rd UNO challenge, though the last time was a few years ago. I pretty much read romance books, though I've just recently binge-watched Good Omens on Amazon Prime so I may add that book to my TBR.

re Colors - generally, if something looks like a color, it will work. the main thing is to make sure the color fits for the edition you're reading as another edition wouldn't count. It looks like our team will have a lot of different types of books read, which is great except that my TBR will probably grow by leaps and bounds as I see books others have read and need to add them. Less than a week to go before we start.

I feel the same way! I love seeing what other people are reading, but that always leads to my TBR being hundreds of books long lol. I'm really loving figuring out where my current Feb tbr fits within our monthly hand.

I've accepted the fact that my TBR will outlive me.

Here's an example with one of my books that's already on the spreadsheet, so anyone who's playing for the first time can have a better idea:

Beloved
Far From the Madding Crowd"
I added your name. :)

Also, tin eye didn't verify those colors for me. It claims the first book is gray and the second is grey and blue (but it totally looks green to me!). Does anyone else get a different result? I'm pretty sure the colors have to be verified by tineye for this challenge, right?

No worries! And it is a good idea to list everything the book could be used for, but we can only use each thing once, so no need to list a P and K character, for example. But if there are characters with other letters that fit then those should be listed. :)

Usually it's more than 50%. I'll try to hunt down the official rules tomorrow to be sure. And we're doing very well with the colors. We only need 3 more yellow books. :)

I'll check and see why you can't access the spreadsheet Karla.
