Kim if you decide you like the Pirate Queen series, try Bloody Jack series. They're historical novels as well as being about a young London girl in the late 18th century who runs away to sea as a boy and her adventures after that. I have at least onw review out but I think they probably say more about how much I love the series.... First one: Bloody Jack: Being an Account of the Curious Adventures of Mary " Jacky" Faber, Ship's Boy by L. A. Meyer.
