description

It comes in waves.

It's already too late for most of us. Walking around with bio-bombs ticking away in our bloodstreams. Bombs that are synchronized to go off together. Before you know it you're diving into the deep end of depravity. A pool of insanity you're never coming back from. Surfacing once or twice to witness the horrors you've caused before your soul takes a deep breath and disappears forever.

It's not natural.

The infections occurring simultaneously across the globe prove it's not a freak phenomena. Someone is behind the pandemic that's turning people into insane cannibals. Who'd benefit from so much death and chaos though? The humanity of whatever group pulled the trigger on this madness is seriously up for debate.

There's No Vaccine

Chris watches as the world around him falls apart. Bitten by a loved one he hovers in a feverish state for weeks. His recovery carefully observed by a group that considers itself above humanity. A group that sees people as prey. Chris becomes a pawn in the war to determine the future of mankind. Follow him as he evolves from being a frazzled twenty something college educated mama's boy into something more. Hopefully it's enough.

Robert J. (rainsworthjr) | 4 comments I wanted to the Mystery group to know that CONNED, my first story in the Harry Bartlett mystery series, is now available on Amazon as an e-book, in paperback, and in hardcover
In CONNED, finding his murdered best friend’s body drags Harry, a soon-to-be-retiring financial executive, into the ruthless world of con artists and scammers that prowl idyllic Nantucket Island for unsuspecting marks.
As for me, I’m Bob Ainsworth, Harry Bartlett’s parents.
The idea for Harry’s stories sprang from my Accounting students' reactions to fraud anecdotes and from thinking about my retirement. I considered speaking about avoiding fraud, but writing mystery fiction seemed to be more fun.
I wrote while commuting to my final job and that became SCAMMED. The 2nd story I wrote was CONNED, about Harry’s journey from a financial executive to a fraud detective. Other stories to come are DUPED about the $500 million Gardner Museum theft, FLIM FLAM about Harry’s grandparents and Charles Ponzi in 1920, and FLEECED about a small town that is ripped off.
As for me, I settled in Boston after meeting my wife at college. I had my CPA and worked as a CFO and Controller. I uncovered a payroll clerk who added hours to her husband’s timesheet and an executive who booked fake sales to increase his bonus.
I live with my family in a Boston suburb.
I hope you enjoy the stories. I had fun writing them.
Bob Ainsworth

Emily Grace Hi, everyone. I've written a mystery novel that I'm planning on getting self-published in November. The title is "River of Sorrows," and I'm making it a trilogy series.

Here's the link to my blog which has a free preview of the prologue, and it features my book cover:

Here's the synopsis:

Felix Carter is cursed. Or so everyone believes. When his sister Caroline mysteriously drowns in the river under Love Bridge on her fourteenth birthday, the police call it an unfortunate accident. But when Felix’s mother suffers the same fate a year later, rumors of the Carter family’s alleged “birthday curse begin to spread drastically throughout their once quiet little town. Despite all the rumors, Felix refuses to believe any of it is true until his older brother Luis suddenly goes missing on his eighteenth birthday.

Rigel Thomas isn’t cursed. But he certainly feels that way. When his father, a well-respected private investigator, drags him along to investigate the Carter family, Rigel has a fated encounter with someone he thought he’d never see again. Rigel soon learns, however, that a bitter reunion between an old friend and a strained relationship with his father are merely miniscule problems compared to the major calamity that lies ahead.

After Luis disappears, people outside the Carter family begin to vanish seemingly at random. The river turns crimson, dyed with the blood of its victims. Suspicion cuts through the air, creating a rift between friends and lovers. Distrust erupts even amongst loved ones. After all, everyone has a dark side, it’s only a matter of time before the mask slips and eventually breaks.

E.A. Briginshaw | 29 comments This Wednesday, November 22nd, is the 60th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. In honor of that tragic event, the Kindle version of my book titled "The Second Shooter" is being made available for free from November 20th to 24th.

Here's the link to it on Amazon.com:

When I wrote the book back in 2015, I was expecting (hoping?) that all records related to the assassination would be released in October 2017, as per the terms dictated by the JFK Records Act of 1992. However, the CIA and the FBI pressured the President to once again prevent thousands of those records from being released. It is estimated that there are approximately 14,000 records that have never been made public. President Biden is expected to make a decision on whether to release those documents on December 15th this year. However, I'm not optimistic that those records will ever be made public.

My book is fiction, but if you read between the lines of the plot of the book, it will become apparent who I believe was involved. In the book, a student unwittingly comes into possession of some of these records after they are accidentally released. The records are encrypted, so he doesn't really know what he has, but forces within the government are using whatever means necessary to get them back.

I've had a very positive response to my financial thriller set in London. I'm including a couple of reviews to whet your appetite. For a different take on the detective novel, please check it out at the link below.

Cracking thriller:
Set in the World of online trading, this is a fast paced, cracking thriller.
I was slightly apprehensive that the financial terminology would go over my head, I did look one term up, but it was all so well explained, I actually found it fascinating.

Great read from start to finish:
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more by the same author. It should appeal to a wide audience to enjoy as a standalone thriller but will be of particular interest to retail stock market investors as there are few novels relevant to this group. As one chapter ended I was eager to move to the next one as the plot flowed seamlessly with intertwining sub-plots merging together for the finale. I feel it would translate well to a TV drama. So well done to the author!

Thanks,
