We're going to have a selection pool of group read themes that you suggest and we cycle through every six months.

*You can add your suggestion to the list, and/or if you really like a suggested theme, feel free to second it.
*We're not going to vote on these unless I get plenty of feedback that several readers don't want like this process and want to go back to the old way of doing things.
*I can use the themes in order until we run out, and we'll start over again with a new pool after the cycle has elapsed.

Some general guidelines:
1. We will take six group themes and one alternate for each cycle. The alternate is kind of a wild card/extra just in case. If it's not used, it will go at the top of the list for the next cycle.
2. The themes need to be distinctive from each other. As much as possible, avoid extremely general themes.
3. One suggestion per member per cycle (a cycle is six months)
4. If your suggestion is not straightforward, I will ask for clarification and narrowing down. If you aren't able to do so, I will have to table the suggestion until it's clear enough for others to understand be able to generate book choices to vote for.
5. For some reason, if we don't have seven, I will give members about a month to make a sixth and seventh suggestion and then I will close the cycle and we will just go through what we have.
6. If we get more than seven suggestions (and each one has been posted by a separate member) before the cycle closes, I'll add it to the new cycle.
7. The last two months before the end of the cycle, I will open up a new suggestion list to accumulate new themes.
8. We will still vote on the books as usual.

Please go to the below thread to post your suggested theme:

Cycle One (Open March 13-June 15th)

* Please post questions. This is all new, so we'll refine as we go.

Jenny a.k.a....Jenny from the block | 180 comments Lisa; I like that... Right up James Rollins Sigma Force... they have everything from science in far off lands, double agents and a very strong team as I’m part of Sigma, my five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no person has gone before! Yes I can see the light... We need Sigma Force to the rescue and save us all.........

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 229 comments I'd like to add:
- espionage
- strong female heroines
- military/PMC/special forces/Black-Ops & similar
- exotic or international settings
- unwilling/unexpected heroes
- assassins
- cyber crimes
- economic thriller/business espionage

I'm not sure if there would be any interest in:
- non-fiction
- Christian Action/Adventure
- Blind Mission (an operation handled by an individual who is unaware he was recruited for such a mission)
- YA/NA heroes

Hi, Jamie and Agnieska, thanks for the suggestions. Please pick one that you really want right now. And copy the list down in your personal notes for the next cycle.

We're only going to take one per person per cycle. Once we're at (seven-the last one is the alternate in case the sixth one doesn't work out), the cycle closes.

Please go here to post your suggestions: Cycle One (Open March 13-June 15th)

This may be the same as Lisa was going for but how about historical fiction action?

Agnieszka (agnieszka7) | 229 comments Sorry I was AWOL the last few months in this group. Unfortunatelly several depressive episodes and an operation struck me down. I hope the next time will go better.
