Shirley's 2015 bingo challenge
Good luck Shirley. I'm doing similar :)

click on the "(some html is ok)" link and follow the example for linking an image (it starts "<img src="). You can omit the height and width parameters or play around with them to get it to be the size you want.
Shirley and Leslie, how do you add the stars to the image? Also Shirley, sorry for cluttering up your reads thread!
I managed to put stars in the bingo square on a word file, but after that I can't upload it in the thread!!! Sorry again for pestering your thread Shirley!!!

Laura and Greg - no worries! Glad you asked, we can all learn together!
Greg - I copied the image onto word and then used paint to edit and put stars on. I am not very technical so that might not be the best way! Now I have the image on my photos on my profile but I can't seem to get it to appear here!
The point is that it is a .doc file and I can't upload it on my photoes!!!!
If you're not techmical I don't want to know what am I

They really could make it easier!
Sorry Laura, I'm not sure I can help you with a doc file. I edited mine in paint

At the place you want to put the image, you type:
<img src="the web address of your image">
I copy and paste the web address from my profile page by selecting the picture and then right-click to get a menu choice of "view image" but you can also click on the tiny link on the upper right corner of the image that says "largest size". That gives a page with nothing on it except the photo or image to which you are trying to link.
Copy the address (should be something like "blahblah.jpg") Shirley, for yours the blahblah is 1421772244p8/1125099
If you want to change the size, then you add in height and width values (from 0 to 400 I believe). If you want to do this, I recommend checking with the preview button before saving. With the height/width parameters, the code looks like this:
<img src="your image's web address" height=250 width=200>
@Laura -- see if you can do a "save as" and then select .jpg as the file type. If not, perhaps save as Powerpoint and then save as a jpg from there (I did mine once in Paint and once in Powerpoint so I know you can save a jpg from powerpoint.)

At the place you want to put the image, you type:
the web address of your image">

Leslie you're a star! And you are so patient with us, thanks for this step by step guide! I will post my bingo tomorrow when I am back on the pc!

The maximum I can do is saving it as PDF!!! I'm not techonoligal, but my pc is even less so!!!!

Why don't you cut and paste (or copy and paste) this whole conversation to the "Basic How Do You Do This Tips" thread in "General Info"? There must be many people in this group (not me, actually) who are doing the Bingo challenge, but do not know how to add the stars.

Good idea, Jean - will do.

(I had enough trouble trying to get mine to work, so didn't confuse you with my thoughts on how to do it)
I still can't manage to have my .doc file saved as .jpeg. I'll manage it ... by the end of the challenge!!!
Well done! The only problem is you have to remember how to do it again when you want to edit your bingo picture...
@Laura- It adds another element to the challenge!

Maybe just start over & try using a different program?

Some nice books in there -- including Gilead and Longborne.
You are doing pretty well, Shirley!

Yes, but I think I might have left all the difficult ones till last!

Don't we all? I still have no ideas for the book that scares me!

I know, that's a tricky one. Especially as I don't tend to read horror!

Yes, and profiteroles are my favourite dessert, lol!

One of mine as well Shirley. In Perugia there's a "Bar Pasticceria" that makes a great one; it's called "L'Accademia"; I'll wait for you to taste it!
