Do you think Isobel is a strong or weak character? Using examples from the book to explain why.

Lacey (libqueen10) | 29 comments I think emotionally Isobel is a strong character, especially for her age and circumstances. For the most part, she stays true to what she believes in and stands her ground when she feels strongly about something. For example, when she feels herself seemingly falling in love with Rook, she tries really hard to snuff those feelings away and demand that her and Rook not give in to their feelings as she knows that their love is forbidden and that the consequences will be fatal. Also, she’s a genuinely good person with positive attributes. She accepts and understands the responsibilities she has to protect her family from Fair Folk. She continues to practice her Craft for the Fair Folk even though doing so puts herself at risk, which makes her brave and reliable. In addition, she cares about Rook even though he is so different from her and knowing that they can’t be together. She sees something inside of him that no other humans usually see in a Fair Folk. The fact that she got to see him without all of his magical glamour while appearing so inhuman and still finds him intriguing and beautiful in his own special way says a lot about her character and her heart. However, she is not without her weaknesses and faults, but what human isn’t? She’s also pretty clever, sarcastic, and intelligent.
