Something Wicked This Way Comes - Ray Bradbury

It's really shocking too because we both like Bradbury.
What the heck?!

Exactly. At least we’re correcting that now!

Awesome and glad you can join! I'm also glad you enjoyed it Vickie!

Enjoy"
Awesome and thanks Renee! Me too. I love his books!

Thanks Melissa!! I had no idea there was a movie. I'll have to check it out when I finish. :D

I’ll admit, I have seen the movie, although it has been a very long time ago. I do remember liking it. I plan on looking it up to watch after we finish reading it.

Omg!!! I can’t believe you didn’t know! I think I still have the dvd 🤔

Thanks, Melissa!

Nice Terry!! I love Ray Bradbury so much and I can't wait to get started on this one.
I'll try and read a bit today, but I'm not sure how much I will read.
I've got the Hawks game tonight so that will eat into my reading time tonight.

I love hiking! That sounds like a good time and especially spending all that time with your Dad.
You will look back at those memories and love that you did this. I miss my Dad so much and I look back to lots of great moments we had over the years. Enjoy Melissa!
Love you back! xoxoxo

Yay!! I’m so glad you love hiking too!! I’m sorry about your dad. I can only imagine. I still have both parents for now. We never know what the days bring us. I miss my grandma and her farm so much. We always had so much fun up there with her and growing up holds so many memories. I mean for years we lived 5 hours away when dad has to move us to get a better job. Then we moved back two and 1/2 hours away when I was in my early 20’s. I used to cry every time we left her house.
Anyway, have to stop because I’m tearing up. Memories are good and sad.
Up on the mountain we hike, I see my favorite trees and see mushrooms and sometimes get to see a friend (Dog) and her owner. It’s just all happy and wonderful. We go more in the winter as I hate the heat but we’ve been gong some this summer. Another reason my phone hates me. I have over 1800 pics I have to delete a bunch. Sooo many are of the trail, I just love looking at them all the time on my phone. Working on keeping just a few hundred 🤣😂
Okay, that was a novella I wrote 😊

I had a little extra time this morning, so I was happy to get a good start. Haha, definitely tough to focus on reading when the game is on! I’ll be at my son’s soccer game tonight so I won’t be doing any more reading myself.

It’s so wonderful. And thank you guys!! Terry, I’m glad you’re enjoying the book so far!! I have it a 3 but I might reread sometime. It’s just because I’ve watched the movie since I was little and I probably had a weird mood day. Although, a three is still good in my rating 😊

Nice Terry!..."
Enjoy the soccer game! 😊

I just started. I love his writing so much! It’s been so long since I read a RB book and I’m glad we are getting to this one. It’s a great start so far.
Have fun at soccer!

I have those same problems! Too many pictures and then I have to delete a lot. 🤣😂
Yeah, memories are the best thing along with pictures with family that has passed away. I hope you have at least a few pictures of your grandma. She sounds awesome! 💕❤️

Not on my phone home. But in my room and real photo albums 😊

And yes, Mel, enjoy those moments with your parents! It sounds Heavenly!! I lost my dad, too, like Ginger. It's been 19 years, and I still struggle with it. I was 26 and full term with my 2nd son when it happened unexpectedly. So it's bittersweet for me... I love watching my son grow up, but it's also how long I've been without my dad. Sigh...what I wouldn't give to be able to go fishing with him again.

No, I’m so sorry to hear that!! I’m lucky to still have both my parents. I won’t be able to live life without them. They are the only thing besides my dog and one grandmother in assisted living at 93 that keep me going. I have suicidal issues and other things but I keep fighting. But if I outlive them, I’m going with them.
I’m glad you have the great memories. They are wonderful and sad. It’s good you have family too. I’m divorced for years now and never had kids or brothers or sisters. It can make for a sad life. I have one true friend that I talk to and watch shows with every day and a couple of others I’m close to in other ways. Holy crow, that got depressing 😳
Let’s have great memories and as many great days as we can! 😊💕

We need more love and kindness these days, so that's an open invitation to any of my GR friends.

I am so sorry Vickie that you lost your Dad at such an early age, especially with having kids. I can imagine that you would want your boys to know your Dad.
I was 32 when Dad died of leukemia and he never met my husband. It's still one of those things that I regret. Devon and I were just together for a year when he got diagnosed. I went down to see him in the hospital thinking he was going to survive cancer and flew back home after a week. Devon didn't fly down with me because he couldn't get off work and we had no idea he would die a month later. My husband just never got a chance to meet him. Crazy times...
It's always good to remember the good times and have lots of pictures. Hopefully we will all get to see our love ones again one day! :D

Yes Mel!! Hang in there. We are all there for you.
I know what it's like. I've lost my Dad to cancer, my brother to a car accident and my nephew to suicide. If you ever have those thoughts, please send me a DM. I am here for you always.
Depression and suicide are black thoughts and you will just keep spiraling down and down...It's hard to get out of it when you get into this state of mind.
Please hang in there and don't do what my nephew or best friend did in college.
xoxoxo!!

Don't forget that everyone! Hope you all have a great day and I'm so glad I've made such awesome friends on here. xoxoxo

Thank you about the DM, I might take you up on that sometime!
Love to you, Vickie, Terry and whoever stumbles onto the thread

Thanks for the happy post, Melissa! I’ll echo what everyone is saying, you all are important to me as friends and I’m always here to talk (or just listen) as well. We can all lean on each other.

Thank you Mel! xoxoxo

I feel the same!

I'm looking forward to finding out what this carnival is all about. :D

Yes! I read that short story in The October Country and really liked that one. Thanks for the reminder P.J.!
And you are right. He can see how he would influence King stories about growing up and tackling evil! :D LOL!
