Hey Rosie

The Stone Gate won't fit the criteria as it is Fantasy - but the other two are great, and are both on my wish list after I read, and adored, The Giver

Monise Tua (monise_tua) The books that I've decided to read for this challenge will be all YA Dystopian. The books will be Uglies and also Legend . Hopefully I can buy the books by February and that I'll finish them since they've been on my list since late 2013/early 2014. If I do get the chance, I may also read Cinder and maybe even The 5th Wave . FINGERS CROSSED!! Can't wait to get into reading more again.

message 62: by Kerri (new)

Kerri Green This is a great chance to finish the series so I'll read Allegiant.
I'm sure I have many more that fit the criteria in my TBR list but with school back I doubt I'll get to them.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 9889 comments I found two that definitely fit the bill for this challenge:
The Bridge by Jane Higgins and Havoc by Jane Higgins by Jane Higgins so that's what I'll read.

FrenzieMcKenzie | 50 comments Oh I just made it in time to join in :) I'm going to read The Peripheral that will probably be it. If I have any extra time (lol) I'll also read Parasite. There are some really good books in here.

message 76: by Katie (new)

Katie Mineeff | 59 comments I just finished my first, sorry I got in early! Admission by Barry Jonsberg is a great read. I'd definitely recommend it. I will say that it was at times a little predictable but that could be because I have read so much YA post-apocalyptic and dystopian fiction - t's a favourite of mine! It was fast paced and character driven with a cliffhanger ending. I have already downloaded the second in the trilogy Deception on my kindle. 4*

MaryG2E (goodreadscommaryg2e) | 934 comments Hi Brenda and other Aussie Readers in this challenge, initially I said 'No' to participating in the February challenge because I had such a backlog of books to get through. I'm delighted that the mini-mountain has disappeared and so will engage in this February challenge with great pleasure, being a big fan of Dystopian and Post-apocalyptic fiction. Today I've started Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. Could anyone ask for a better choice of title to kick off this challenge? I just love the Hunger Games series.

message 89: by Dana (new)

Dana | 144 comments I am so very excited I can hardly contain myself, I have started on my first Feb read The Mime Order and can I just say that so far it is so good I have to stop myself from hyperventilating.
I had a copy of this downloaded on my kindle the day of release but I really felt I needed to have a copy in my hands in order to extract the most joy from this reading experience so I have been harassing all local booksellers for a copy. Dymocks are as yet to come through for me but a local indie bookshop (that I vistied today to pick up another book I had ordered) happened to be up to date with his shelving and handed me a copy. Oh joy...

message 94: by Katie (new)

Katie Mineeff | 59 comments I'm on to my second (although I got an early start :/), Deception by Barry Jonsberg and enjoying it immensely! Funnily after I declared that book trailers were a waste in terms of book promotion, it was a book trailer I found when setting a project for my yr 6 students that had me tumble on to the Pandora Jones series. It had enough tension to have me add it to my TBR list!

That series is fantastic isn't - the final one is coming out in May this year. He is a Darwin author too

Yay, we can compare notes. I am up to page 209 (frantically reading on the bus and during tea breaks at work). I am really enjoying it, no dull bits for me so far. I reread The Bone Season in late November as a refresher. I think someone is about to enter stage left....

Have you read The Last Shot series by another Aussie writer Michael Adams? The first in the Dystopian Trilogy is The Last Girl and the last one is due out in April. If you like the Barry Jonsberg books you'll like this one.
