great idea!
Over at Guardian TLS, I used to be booklooker. Not difficult to guess at the moment, but I might change to just "Shelflife" later.

You used to be 'Bill from PA', but you seem to have morphed to just plain Bill.

Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ seems to enforce a certain informality. I registered with "Bill" as my first name and "FromPA" as my last name. Still, "Bill" is preferable to "Mr. FromPA"

welcome Veuf...no Mach yet though...

Here I'm Bill from PA, I was Swelter on TLS."
Thanks, Bill, it is really helpful

I mostly lurked, and occaisonally commented, as Melia13. I'm sure you could never have guessed from my guardian username but:
Hi, I'm Amelia :)

I'd love to out at least my first name, but it's really far too rare and would immediately show who I am. I might revisit my position, but for the time being, I'll stay glad(arvor)...
PS: I wonder how many people have seen that there is a 'who's who' discussion... I was not sure either how this worked yesterday and almost missed the 'TLS' one started by LL.

Hey come one, everyone knows your name is Gladys, Glad ;-)

Meuh non, you know full well it's Cheryl (the one nice thing about GR is that it allows us to make edits, although this could be tricky too...).

Just had a look at my profile, with 359 books rated... take all that with a pinch of salt... when I signed up to GR in 2015, I rated a lot of books I had read in the past. It also seems that books rated on behalf of my mother (e.g. Dick Francis - who I have never read) ended up on my list, as I assume they passed through my Amazon account. Most of the books were read by me, though, and most of the ratings stand, more or less.

I also sometimes post about books on Twitter as MrJoshTweets, but am currently on an extended Twitter break. Books Twitter is great, but it can be hard to avoid the toxic cesspool that is the rest of Twitter.

The last two sentences make me feel... uneasy!

As they should, I have learned that hysterical pregnancy is not limited to the female half of the species

From beautiful Oslo, if I remember rightly.

I posted a photo of Lincoln Cathedral on the Group photos because I love to see where people live and would delight in an Oslo one.

I have been inspired to read so many books through those pages - thank you all.

Hi fran, I *think* you just need to go to your Account Settings (if you click on the top right corner, on your non avatar) and change your first name there.
(PS: How irritating that you have to untick every single fucking time the 'Add to my Update Feed' box when you post a comment. Forgot a few times already, sheesh. If anybody knows of a way to disable that bloody thing by default, I'm all ears!)

Welcome Mr Brown. Watched your jury panel discuss the NtB on Monday (before all hell broke lose), it has put the three books that were championed on my radar, thank you all for that (Magrat, Katecha, Sam and you).

I normally lurk with occasional posts as fowlerisgod on the G.

I think you can go to Account settings, then the the tab marked Feeds and untick “Comment on a book or discussion. Your comments should then no longer appear in your feed.
Also, nice to meet you all here. It's lovely to see so many familiar names. I’ve added comments very sporadically on TLS with the name AdinaB, but mostly just lurking and enjoying it from a distance. I'll try to write more here on GR.
Here I'm Bill from PA, I was Swelter on TLS.
