The Glass Universe: How the Ladies of the Harvard Observatory Took the Measure of the Stars - this one came to mind for astronomy, although it may be more math than astronomy.

message 210: by Mercedes (new)

Mercedes Argibay | 8 comments Hi,
Do you have any recomendations on books about Pediatricians (current job)?
or may be fantasy/sci-fi writers? (when I was a kid and read the Lord
of the Rings for the first time I wanted to be a fantasy writer)
There is a biography of Tolkien (and other writers as well) but I don´t usually read biograhy and I am a bit scared of finding it boring, but that is probably just prejudice
Thanks!

the angel in "good omens" owns a book shop... I loved that book and the tv show is better (which is uncommon) but it may not be a good match if you are very religious.

Abdel's book The Upside movie tie-in of You Changed My Life which is an English translation of Tu as changé ma vie.... Take your pick.

A Second Wind is Philippe's book. Le second souffle : suivi du Diable gardien in French.

Their story is the basis for the wonderful French movie Intouchables and it's remakes. The Upside in the States.

I'm an elementary school counselor too! I haven't found much of what I'm looking for either. If you find something, let me know! It's not an easy google search, as I just get children's books. :)
Someone earlier in this thread said that in "Dear Emmie Blue" the main character is studying to be a school counselor, but I'm not sure that fits the prompt. It's my backup option.
