Phillip Murrell | 366 comments I love a ton of action in my stories. Better yet, I love them with genuine casualties. I whine a lot about plot armor in stories. That being said, what are your recommendations in either Sci-Fi or Fantasy that have a ton of fight scenes? I'm talking about a chapter for worldbuilding, a chapter for character development, a chapter for fighting; this cycle repeats throughout the book.

Some examples I can think of that I loved were Kings of the Wyld, The Grey Bastards, and Lost Stars.

What do you recommend?

Tamahome | 7137 comments Tom & Veronica talked once about doing an episode of sff books with the best action.

I would nominate The Stars My Destination for not just fighting but action in general.

There's also The Bourne Identity but that's not sff.

I'm reading The Way of Kings, which has some cool action scenes, but it's a long haul of a read. You could search for some youtube clips of the Graphicaudio versions of some action scenes. There's some animations too.

AndrewP (andrewca) | 2653 comments If your looking for space action I recently finished Constitution by Nick Webb. It's a bit of a rehash of BSG (new series) but action packed all the way through.
