Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 4367 comments Nominations for the March 2021 read are for books published from 2000 & up.

SF novels or short story collection/anthologies that have not previously been read by the group are eligible. Please check the bookshelf for previously read books & the nomination rules for further clarification before nominating a book.

Previously nominated books are on this bookshelf. More qualifying authors & books can be found here.

Please add your nominated book title as a clickable link directly to the goodreads' book page, with author and year, so it looks like this:
Children of Time
Adrian Tchaikovsky
2015
(If you can't create book links, please include the URL to the book.)

Tell us why you chose the book that you're nominating. Remember that books require seconding now. We'll close this nomination thread on the 15th of January in order to have plenty of time for poll(s) and then for acquisitions of the winner(s).

Adrian | 65 comments How about
Hull Zero Three by Greg Bear 2010 I think.

Updated to include my reason for nomination - I love Generation Ship stories.

Ronald (rpdwyer) | 174 comments I nominate Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway.

message 5: by Lautaro (last edited Jan 03, 2021 07:47AM) (new)

Lautaro Lobo (lautarolobo) | 66 comments I'll second Hull Zero Three, space horror? I'm in.

I nominate The Clockwork Rocket by Greg Egan. It was a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ Choice Award Nominee for 2011. It's hard Sci-Fi (or so say the reviews).

Leo | 779 comments Beacon 23 by Hugh Howey, 2015. I still need to read his famous Silo trilogy. But this is a stand alone, about a lonely guard and his thoughts at a space lighthouse.

I'll second this. Reviews look good and I haven't read much hard Sci-fi recently.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 4367 comments It looks like only 2 books have been seconded. Last day for nominations & seconds.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) | 4367 comments I'll nominate All Systems Red by Martha Wells. This is the first of the Murderbot series. It's short & interesting, told from the point of view of a cyborg. Quirky & interesting.
