What book have you read with less than 1,000 reviews? Is it a newer book?

Books 2-4 of the ‘Daughters of Eville series by Chanda Hahn have less than 1,000 ratings on ŷ. If you are interested in this series, I know of at least 2 categories these can fit into! If you like a twist of fairytales that involves the princesses being anti-heroes, then you should check these out!

Megan Schmidt (msschmaynard) | 2 comments I’m almost hesitant to post for fear it will suddenly get tons of reviews, but why not? Violent Delights by Hannah Boggs and all things Kerry Winfrey are great lesser-known authors, and their books are below 1K ratings! Go forth! 😂

Emily | 35 comments Bending the Paw, which is book 9 in the Paw Enforcement series by Diane Kelly. It had 163 ratings/95 reviews on ŷ when I started reading it. Cute story, and cute series if you like cozy mysteries and dogs. :)

Kelly Macfarlane | 7 comments Just finished Heidi Jacobs, "Molly of the Mall" and highly recommend it. Won the Leacock Medal for humour; features Molly, a university student who studies English at the University of Alberta, and sells shoes at West Edmonton Mall, and is an avid reader of Jane Austen. If you like academic novels (student viewpoint rather than faculty), or English classics, and light novels, and want to support upcoming new women authors, try this! It was great!

Lisa Morrow | 37 comments I read 'Wink of an Eye' by Lynn Chandler-Willis. A really good mystery!

Sheila Knotts | 26 comments I saw someone else post one of Diane Kelley’s books, and I just finished Against the Paw, also by her with only 75 reviews. It’s number 4 in her series...just easy and fun.

Dustyloup | 5 comments some other ideas for books with low review numbers: nonfiction books that are more "how to" than narrative. like Amy Herzog's sweater book, very popular amongst knitters but few reviews.
Also children's books because for some reason people don't think they "count".
and literary magazines too

I read #Blocked: A Social Media Love Story by Savannah Thomas for this category and I thought it was super cute! It was a fast read too.

Rose (rlevenson) | 34 comments I read Badass Habits by Jen Sincero. The book was published within the last year. I didn't love it, but it was quick to read and had a few helpful nuggets.

Georgette | 2 comments I'm starting Waiting for the Night Song by Julie Carrick Dalton. It was published in 2021, so as of right now, there are about 500 goodreads reviews and about 100 Amazon reviews. Could also work for the 2021 book as well.

Shannon (srcolvin) | 40 comments I just finished A Vow So Bold and Deadly. As of right now it has 676 ratings on Amazon.

Kailina | 5 comments I read “Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex by Angela Chen, which was FANTASTIC. It now has 1400 reviews on goodreads, but it had less than 1000 when I started reading it. It only has 100 reviews on Amazon right now, so t still meets the criteria. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS BOOK ENOUGH. It should be mandatory reading for every person.

Thanks for the recommendation; it looks really interesting.

I read 'Tomorrow', a collection of short stories, which are the latest (2020) winners in the Creative Future Writers Award, which showcases under-represented writers. I couldn't find it on the ŷ list, so assume it has no reviews at all.
