Probably, but I'd be careful with anyone I know has struggled with depression, as the first half of it was very hard for me, even though I'd like to live the lesson at the end.

Would you recommend this book? No, I wouldn't. The lesson was in my face the entire time and it was very repetitive. I think I would recommend it to people are wanting something like a fictional self help book or are dealing with the doubts Nora is feeling. This isn't a dig at anyone who enjoys self help, but it wasn't the book I was expecting to read or usually like to read. I would caution about recommending to someone who has or had depression because it would be quite heavy to someone who has experienced it. I personally would have a small group of people I would recommend this to, given all of the caveats I have.

I actually loved it because this is all about two sisters that always fighting but at the end of the story, they're getting along together. I hope you like it...

message 20: by Jacqie (new)

Jacqie Title: Dark and Deepest Red
Author: Anna-Marie McLemore
Recommend: this was not my favorite by this author. There were dual timelines and storylines. I didn't get much out of the present day storyline and the one set in the past was quite depressing. I preferred her book When the Moon was Ours. Everything she writes is magical realism so there are a lot of other books by her to try.

Would you recommend this book? Yes, it's a beautifully written, quiet novel of interlinked stories. The love story between Fusagi and Kohtakhe made me ugly cry, in such a good way!
