Happy March Paper & Glam readers!

For many of us, March 2020 was the beginning of a shift that would change our lives. And as is the way of our world, we have found ourself here again in a new March; still full of possibilities and fresh green highlighters.

This month, we’re turning the pages of I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith - a novel that is considered by many to be the first teen/young adult novel. Make sure you join us at 6 PM PT / 9 PM ET on March 25th for our Literati tier exclusive book club chat for this month’s pick!

➡️

Described by reviewers as a poignantly wistful coming of age story, I Capture the Castle follows 17 year old Cassandra and her family over 6 months of living in a ramshackle English castle. A writer by nature, we peek into Cassandra’s heart via her journal entries. Supposedly perfect for fans of Jane Austen, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and Jenny Han.

Mark Your Planners! for our Spring Reading Preview livestream on March 18th at Glam Time (6 pm PT / 9 PM ET) over on Patreon.

It’s so much fun helping co-create this new era of P & G Book Club with all of you!

Join the Paper & Glam Book Club Patreon here ➡️ and we’ll see you soon as we continue our bookish journey together!

With literary love,
Anna 📚💜

Keeley Ridner Anyone doing audiobook for this one? I’m listening to a play style but the book does not appear to be in this format. Part of me wants to read the book because I feel like it’s not the same, but I’m actually kind of loving this format.

I heard there was a drama version! I'm so curious about the differences~ I'm flip flopping between liking it and being very meh about it so far. I did also grab the movie to see if that makes any type of difference.

Sarah (sareel) I really liked the book but the movie fell totally flat for me. Maybe it will hit differently for you if you're meh about the book.

Lucy (macloopy) | 1 comments I'm having a hard time getting excited about this book and I'm about 1/3 of the way through. We'll see if I can finish it before next week!

Marisa (mickeymisa) | 17 comments I listened to the audible book. It was a bit tough to get into in the beginning but then it got a bit interesting and then honestly it fell flat at the end to me as I was hoping for a little more.

Meredith Hoy I've been such a slow reader lately! I am enjoying this book, but I'm still only at 30%!! I'm going to really try to finish it by Thursday.

Deanna Bailey (deannabailey) | 8 comments I’m about halfway through this book and I’m so close to just giving up on it because it is so boring to me

Same De, same.

I know that feeling! I've had rabbit brain when it comes to reading this whole season. Even if you don't finish, come join the liveshow~

Good to know!

I totally feel that! Even if you don't finish - come to the liveshow anyway!

That's good to know! I'm trying to finish the book but it may end up being a DNF for me to be honest!

Happy Book Club Eve, Reading Sisters! 📗💐

Lisamarie's enneagram 4-heart loved all the coming of age nostalgia in this classic widely considered the very first young adult novel. If it was a slower start for you, keep the pages turning...you'll be glad you did. And if it's been a busy March and your reading life showed it, join us anyway! It's going to be a beautiful bookish night.

I'll see you at GT (Glam Time) 6 PM PT/9 PM ET tomorrow night on to discuss I Capture the Castle.

Meredith Hoy I was really enjoying my first book club this year when the internet on my computer decided to completely crap out on me. (Good thing my husband builds computers for fun, so he's fixing it for me. haha) So I'm going to catch the replay for the second half, and I'll see you all next month!
