I feel like I am late if I post after Thursday or Friday. But... my work schedule changed, so I guess better to be later. And as Nadine said, I shouldn't feel late at all :)

I have also been all about the puzzles lately. I quite like the Galison puzzles. They have quite a few about books. They are good for my progress though, I listen to audiobooks while I puzzle!

I also love to listen to audiobooks while I do jigsaw puzzles! That was most of what I did yesterday honestly. I think I've gotten through almost every one of Google's Arts and Culture puzzle party puzzles at this point, oof (here for the curious: )

Add me to the jigsaw puzzles and audiobooks club! It definitely keeps my reading stats up. Usually, I like a pretty nature scene or evocative street scene (Ravensburger is the best), but now I'm busting out of my comfort zone by doing a mystery puzzle. Will I solve the mystery?! Probably not, honestly, but it's still fun!

Brandon Harbeke | 696 comments I like to do something similar but with LEGOs instead of jigsaws and podcasts instead of audiobooks. It's nice to have something to do with your hands while you listen to something.

It is. My weekend morning routine is coffee, toast, and on-line logic puzzles (conceptispuzzles.com) while I listen to an audiobook. If I run out of the free puzzles, then I pull out a picture logic puzzle (they go by many names: "nonograms" or "pic-a-pix" or "hanjie" or "griddlers") or coloring book. If I had space for jigsaw puzzles, I'd definitely be into that.

A mystery puzzle?? Who makes those--they'd be perfect for my mom and me!

I get so caught up in reading the LEGO directions to make sure I'm doing everything correctly that I can't listen while I build! XD

But I agree with all of you saying it's nice to have something to do with your hands while you listen. I tend to cross-stitch or clean while I listen.

Sheri | 917 comments I sometimes use audio books when I'm doing painting/drawing/cross stitch, although I do also watch movies or catch up on tv with that. I still like audio books to be re-reads just because I'm still prone to spacing out/missing details.

There's a company called Bepuzzled who makes them, and I'm sure others I don't know about. Basically, there's a booklet with a mystery story, and the image that's revealed by the puzzle will help you solve the mystery (as said, I never solve it). Then there's a part of the booklet you read after you're finished with the puzzle that gives the solution. It's fun!

I have a bunch of "vintage" mystery puzzles in storage, buried under boxes of ornsments and stuff. They date from around 1990 and were great fun.

I go through puzzle periods. I do feel one coming on....

Ellie (patchworkbunny) | 1748 comments I love jigsaw puzzles too (and I don't really have room for them but puzzle mats are a huge help). My current one has dinosaurs and pirates (I think the concept is that the paintings in a gallery have come alive), it'd ridiculous but I do prefer scenes with a lot going on.

I really like the Discworld ones that The Discworld Emporium do but they have been awaiting stock forever, thanks to everyone being stuck indoors and discovering puzzles.

Thanks so much for the info!

poshpenny | 1916 comments Mystery puzzles are fun. I got some this year that do a magic trick when you are done. Those were fun too. If you are interested, I reccomend not looking up what the trick is or watching any videos, including their promo clip. Don't mess with the extra stuff in the box until you are done. Magic Puzzle Co.
