Post your ideas for future Build Your Case posts. You only need to provide one or two sentences and we will take it from there.

Are there any aspects or characters of the In Death series that you feel strongly about one way or the other? That you feel make for good topics of discussions? Give us your suggestions and we'll showcase them as future "Cases". As mentioned in the first post, we only need a sentence or two explaining your idea and we'll take it from there.

This is anything about the In Death series.

Lynn (ftbooklover) | 130 comments I know there are some people who have strong feelings about some of the characterizations in the books. Might make for good discussion.

Michelle | 2636 comments The case of who the Candy thief is?

I was wondering some topics have already been discussed but could maybe be revisited.
Eg.1. Urban Wars- How is it that something that Ms Robb started as an idea in 1990s can now almost feel prolific in the times we live in currently .
2.The case of Eve and her metaphor mix ups. Or are they ... ?
2.Play around with the idea that this is set in the future but what would you keep, change, or not even think/worry about.

And yes...everything is open to be a "case". Even things we've hashed over as a group in the past. We have new points of view and I know sometimes viewpoints change over time. We want to explore them all!

Professional Parent
licenced LCs
Urban Wars
Living Off Planet

Some great topics to explore, Maggie! We'll work on setting those up.

message 11: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3018 comments These are great topics. I love that we are keeping some discussions in the In Death world. It will be a few months before the next buddy read.

On topic I discuss with my cousin is how the characters early years impact them today. Eve, Roarke, and Mavis had horrific childhoods, but they turned their lives around in very different directions. Compare and contrast.

Our next "case" is coming up Monday!

message 16: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 2636 comments I just had a few thoughts for a topics l
1. Recurring characters :
who's your favourite?
Who surprised you on their return?

2. The novellas. They are mostly themed based.
What do you think of those themes.

3. What was the most surprising/memorable moments in the series. Case related or personality of any of the characters

message 24: by Lexi (new)

Lexi (lexi_liese) | 3 comments Kind of piggy-backing off of Maureen's idea.. What do people think of the idea of an "Eve in Uniform" sex scene. I know that in one book Eve doesn't realize she forgot to take her weapon off, but Roarke has such a fantasy of her in her uniform, that I want him to be able to fulfill that fantasy haha I'm curious what others think!

message 25: by Michelle (new)

I would love that scene. I keep thinking it is going to happen, but she never comes home with her uniform. I don't think Eve will go for kinky uniform sex in the office.

Thing is, I think she's gonna draw a hard line on that fantasy, but in the spirit of being pragmatic (and if Nora doesn't add this as an anniversary present, I'm gonna be disappointed), I think she'd be willing to buy an officer costume that you see in sex shops.

message 29: by Veda (new)

Veda (moonchild63) | 104 comments Love all of them, yet Maggie the most about

Professional Parent
Legal LC

& the present atmosphere regarding Urban War

The Candy Thief - esp her eyeing McNab, but I think its Roarke

He would find it too much fun to resist - IMHO

Novellas - love it

Also my input - not so much the one liners, yet I sometimes find gems in statements, observations & psychological oberservations - the first two anyone says something profound & latter Mira of course.

Kay wrote: "I wonder about the possibility of Eve and Roark having a child. Eve becoming pregnant or adopting a child they become invested in due to the case. The case aspect has occurred a few times, but perh..."

Since Nora has stated that a pregnant Eve would end the series, there’s not much for a case to be built.

message 31: by Lynn (new)

Lynn (ftbooklover) | 130 comments Kay wrote: "So, as I said it does not have to be a pregnant Eve. I like the scenario of them finding a child in need due to their common background with either Eve or Roark, with Sommerset being totally involv..."

I like it when they get involved with the kids of others, but I don't think a child of their own would play well in this series. Their loyalties and priorities would be divided which would change the entire dynamic of the series. I'm not sure how fans (me included) would react to that kind of change.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 14975 comments Mod
Nora made it clear about children ending the series. My apologies for limiting it to pregnancy earlier.

message 33: by Dstny5233 (new)

Dstny5233 | 38 comments I think children would end it. I loved reading them with Kevin, Jamie, Nixie, Sean, Bella, etc but I think if/when they get kids, it should be the end cuz they'd be "settled" by then and totally comfy with their lives. I thought the end of the series (I don't ever want) would be a huge explosive death for everyone

message 35: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3018 comments good question. I think it will take 3 more books to reach 9 months.

message 36: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 14975 comments Mod
With a one month progression with each book…maybe another year and a half?

message 37: by Dstny5233 (new)

Dstny5233 | 38 comments it seems 3 books a year and a novella every so often. I do believe Eve would like it to be in about 15 years though. :)

message 38: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3018 comments I noticed a lot of people around the internet and some in our group think that Robb's recent books don't cut it. I would like to discuss why.

Michelle | 2636 comments That could be an interesting discussion

message 40: by Sharon (new)

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3018 comments After rereading the first two books in the series, I would like to discuss Summerset.

He had an instant HATE for Eve, and I don't understand it. He comes around, and I love their snipes at each other now. However, In the beginning, it is implied that he believes Eve is beneath Roarke. That never made sense to me. Roarke is a "Dublin street rat" and never hides it. I could understand a dislike, but this is more than that. What do you think is the real reason Summerset hates Eve so much in the first few books.

ElectricOutcast (electicoutcast) | 624 comments Don't know if this be the right place for this conversation piece, but hypothetically speaking, if given a chance to create your own answer to the Eve Dallas/Roarke series, by that, I mean create something that was heavily influenced by the series, what ideas would you put in?

message 46: by Barbara "Cookie" (new)

Barbara "Cookie" Serfaty Williams (goodreadscomcookiew1801) | 1573 comments More about Eve’s mother and her family. From what we learned in Dallas to New York mother sounds like she came from a wealthy family and she just went bad.
