Tamar | 17 comments There was a series of YA books about a group of kids who had been evacuated from London during WWII and had adventures together. Probably published in the 50's or late 40's.

Will update if any more details come to mind.

Stephen (havan) | 151 comments I'm guessing a FEW more details are needed... (unless you're thinking of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe ) or perhaps confusing your memories with the Famous Five novels by Enid Blyton... don't suppose there was a dog named Timmy... ;-)

The Farrar family, whom we have met before in Family Footlights, are spending the summer holidays in 1939 in Sussex, in charge of the same delightful aunt. Suddenly the war looms upon their horizon. The empty house across that barley field has been offered for evacuee children from London and the Farrar's find themselves involved in furnishing, staffing and generally organizing the whole affair.
It was published in 1940. It's the second book of the Farrar series.
