Joosje | 54 comments Sunshine at the Comfort Food Café (Comfort Food Cafe #4) by Debbie Johnson I read Sunshine at the Comfort Food Café and I loved it. It's part four of a six part series, which can also be read as standalone books. I love reading about this group of friends who support each other when life is tough and enjoy good times together when they can. The books are comforting. Challenge complete.

Keyword--Gone
Book--As Waters Gone By by Cynthia Ruchti
This novel was well written with an excellent sense of place/setting. I was compelled to look up Madeline Island Wisconsin after finishing this book.

The Forgotten ROAD by Richard Paul Evans
A few years ago, I travelled part of Route 66. Because of that, I enjoyed this book. Not sure I would have otherwise.
3 stars.

Book: Searching for Sunday: Loving, Leaving, and Finding the Church
Author: Rachel Held Evans
Keyword: Search

I appreciated reading another viewpoint of growing up evangelical Christian. I was curious about her (a young woman) perspective on why people (especially younger people) are leaving the church. I was surprised to find out the young author had passed away a couple years ago.

The Rocky Road to Ruin Meri Allen 7/24/21 The Rocky Road to Ruin (Ice Cream Shop Mysteries #1) by Meri Allen Meri Allen 7/24/21

The ARC of a new book coming out on July 27 was a fun cozy mystery written by an author I already knew and loved her previous work, only this is under a new name. 5 stars for sure.

Keyword: Search The Searcher

I read The Searcher by Tana French. Suspense/Thriller. Loved it!! Main character is very likable and the story moves along smoothly with great development and page turning suspense.

I read Through the Woods. It was a delightfully creepy graphic novel.

Jessie (jessemma) | 1 comments I listened to Everything Under by Daisy Johnson as an audiobook - wonderfully full of hazy memories and harsh tragedy. Reminded me of the atmosphere in The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.

message 13: by Elba (new)

Elba M (elbamsosa) | 69 comments Challenge completed. I read two books: for the word EVER: The happy ever after playlist. This book is what we call a palate cleanser. Every chapter is named after a song. The story is about to persons that had terrible losses in their lives and how a dog brings them together and after some his and downs they have a happily ever after. Love the book.

message 14: by Elba (new)

Elba M (elbamsosa) | 69 comments My second book was also for the word EVER : Never have I ever. was so disappointed with this book that for the first time I rated a book ⭐⭐. Maybe if the title had been different, the book would had made more sense. The dare only happens in the very first chapter and after that is just a person using blackmail to get what she needs.
