John LeCarre is the only name I recognize from the list. I suppose it's because well known for writing in the genre I like. I keep telling myself to check him out.

Nice

I believe I only read one Ian Flemming James Bond novel. It was Goldfinger, and it was a page-turner.

All the books in the George Smiley series are superb, IMO

I haven't heard of these authors. I'll pick one randomly when I'm done with the others on my list.
Well I try to give you an order.
Kerry J Donovan and his Ryan Kaine books
Gregg Hurwitz and the great Nowhere Man
And
Jack Carr with The Terminal List, shortly a new series on Netflix.
Tom Wood with one of the best characters Victor the assassin.
some great authors, mostly action/thrillers and some thrillers and police dramas.
Highly recommended.

Their books are always unique and smart snappy dialog.
I find many best seller authors to be formulaic and common (aka Patterson).

Modern (tho she's written historical pastiches) Jane Rubino
There are a lot of authors I was loyal to for their first books and then fell off. Lee Child is an example. I loved the Reacher books through about 10-12, but just did not like the last few. Also thought "Red Dragon" and "Silence of the Lambs" were great, but didn't like Harris' most recent book. Actually, I think writers who kept on giving you what you expected from them were those who knew their limitations and their category, like Mary Higgins Clark or Barbara Cartland.

Just read his 6th book in the series. Great creature features and suitable ending to the series.
KRONOS RISING: PURGATORY - a Fast-Paced Sci-Fi Suspense Thriller : Book 6 in the Kronos Rising series

Great revenge thriller and epilogue to the series. 4* plus book.
