WHOOAAA, that's crazy!!! It really is weird when that happens (but cool too). XD I am!!! Pianists Unite! ;) YEEESSS!!!! I'm so happy I ended up finding them (er...correction: my sister did and she told me about them). ;P

Hot Chocolate Confessions (aryadrottningu) Hi everyone! My name is Maddie, and thank you Lily for inviting me! This group already is so much fun!
I live in California and trust me, I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my adorable niece and nephew. LOL I love to paint, and play piano. The coolest place I’ve been to is Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby, because I also love horse racing!
Three fun facts…hmmm. First off, I’m a listener Big time! XD I collect anything to do with Ronald Reagan. Very strange I know, but he is my favorite President, and such an icon. Lastly, my favorite word is: Remnant. It just sounds so cool, and I love how it is spelled.
My favorite book, after many many years of firmly believing I couldn’t pick just one, is Ella Enchanted, by Gail Carson Levine. It just always topped my must read list! But Levine is not my favorite author. There are still far too many for me to choose from, but a few of my many favorites are: Jennifer Nielsen, Tolkien, Jenny B. Jones, R.C. Lewis, C.S. Lewis, and I could go on! But I will say I have seen a lot of you mention some of my other favorites, and I can’t wait to talk about it!! My least favorite would be pretty much any dystopian novel. I feel like that genre needs to let it go and stop coming out with new books! LOL
My favorite Bible books are Esther and Ruth. With so many negative role models in today’s world, I really enjoy reading about Godly women. And the scripture I am really loving right now is 1 Corinthians 10:31 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun! I'd like to learn judo, but we live really of the grid. Maybe someday.

Well, congrats on the anthologies! I have seen the book, it's on my massive TBR ;-D

Well, thanks you for the answers! :D

I think it's cool that a lot of the things that I automatically associate with Jews are still there. I know a lot of Jews aren't really believers anymore, and it's always sad when a people lose their cultural heritage, you know? My country kinda has that going on right now.

Yeah, I remember reading up on Ham a while ago. Not a nice family at all.

The more celebrations the merrier if you ask me ;-) The only reason we go light on Christmas is because we already have two major Dutch celebrations in November and December involving lots of gifts and candy lol

Thanks for the answer (again), it's really cool that I finally know them now!

Costas Ioannou | 2 comments Hi everyone, I'm costas Ioannou and I am a new author. I published my first Christian Fantasy novel this summer titled Creator's Call. I am 39 and live in Cyprus. I'm married with 2 children. I am a follower of Jesus Christ and try to live my life for Him.
I enjoy horse riding and do my best to press on in my faith.
Currently, the verse that is on my mind is Isaiah 26:3
"You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you."

It's great to be a part of this group.

I’m 33, Canadian, and this is the first group I’ve ever been a part of on ŷ. So thanks for inviting me!
Glad to meet you all. 😊

Ooo, I loved reading Esther as a kid. I need to reread it again soon; I just recently finished Ruth.

message 119: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 11 comments Hi everyone!
Sorry for the late to the party post, I thought I already had lol

I’m Olivia.
I’m in my mid 20’s
I was born and raised in Arkansas, USA.
My husband, two littles, and I have a farm.

I’ve never had any STRANGE pets, there’s just been.. large quantities lol

Well. In most cases I would say I’m more a listener. I love people watching and noticing details (and I’m awful at StArtInG conversations) but once I’m comfy and there’s an interesting subject or something funny.. here we go(like now apparently) haha

Interesting places I’ve been:
Road-trip to Utah. The more eastern part of the state, sand was everywhere and hardly any vegetation of any kind. We had a run-on joke ”Oh look, it’s a bush whenever we’d see anything with resemblance.
Alaska is beautiful. We went hiking once and just as we got back to the vehicles, the sun was setting. Realizing it was 11:30 PM was so strange.

Places I really want to go:
All the British isles, New Zealand, camping in Montana, and Switzerland during Christmas time.

A few of my fave things:
Otters, roller-skating, pen pal-ing, the color green, drawing, hand-crafts, Italian food

Fave words:
Ornitorrinco (Spanish for platypus), derringer, indigo, and words with lots of layers of meaning(historically, linguistically, spiritually, etc)

Fave books:
-sigh- I have so many different levels of favorites though but
Dawn Treader-CON, CS Lewis and
Jane of Lanternhill-LM Montgomery are definitely in the top 5 though

Fave books of the Bible:
Philippians, James, and Psalms.

Verse I’m clinging to right now:
Ps 103:1-5 “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Biggest accomplishments (so far):
Beginning to lay the foundation of my kiddos appreciating/loving God
Farm life
Saying “yes to God about things I wasn’t sure about

Thanks for the add Lily!(:

message 124: by Rinee (new)

Rinee | 6 comments Hi everyone!
I’m Rine, I’m 22 and I’m French.
I like arts (illustration, ballet, songs, classical music and such).
One of the coolest place I’ve been to is The Old Lyon district. Me and my sister had so much fun imagining scenes. It’s a treasure for history lovers and writers.
I speak French (obviously) and English mainly.
I just graduated!
I am more of a listener than a talker but it really depends on the person I’m talking to.

I don’t really have a favorite book yet 🥲 I have to read more and this is why I’m joining Gr groups. Although for BOTMs the group I’m active in ask to choose books appropriate for all ages, so most of the time it’s clean, some subjects are not what I want to read. So I’m happy I found a new active Christian group!

I’ll finish with this verse:

«Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.»
‭‭Acts 4:12 ‭KJV‬

Thank you for this group Lily!

Thanks, Lily!! Haha, yay, I'm not the only one!! My book obsession is... well, I wouldn't say its unhealthy; but its crazy. I have three bookshelves in my bedroom and I need another one because I don;t have any more room for the books I've bought recently. Not good, lol.

There is a difference between Irish and Scottish. I've heard that sometimes they can understand what the other dialect is saying since they are very close. For example, to say 'hello and welcome, my friend' in Scots Gaelic, it'd be 'Halo agus failte, mo charaid.' In Irish, it'd be 'Dia duit agus fáilte, a chara.' So, slightly different. I'm still very much of a beginner, so I'm not always the best at catching differences if I hear gaelic being spoken. =)

Haha, thank you! I might in the next couple weeks/months as I don't have much else to do, haha. Just gotta mend those plot holes and gaps!

I know, right?? It's the best!!!
Thanks again for sending me the invite link!
