Booknblues | 11646 comments It would be wonderful to be back in Three Pines for the Christmas season except with Chief Inspector Armand Gamache, you know that someone has been murdered. In this case it is CC de Poitiers, author of Be Calm. This is not a spoiler because we know it in the first paragraph. What is surprising is the method and I won't tell you, because that indeed would be a spoiler.

I love the people of Three Pines and am really anxious to go there once again.

Robin P | 5399 comments I am reading through this series now and just started the 5th book. They all are seasonal so far, taking place at (Canadian) Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Canada Day (July) and Labor Day. I don't know why I put off reading them except that I knew there were a lot of them. I speak French and spent the last 11 years of my career speaking daily with people in Quebec, so I really enjoy that angle. The descriptions of food are also amazing!

I always love a book that has descriptions of the food. My favorite for that is the Bruno series by Martin Walker.
