Cherie Kills More Series in 2022

I am half way through the Kane Chronicles book. For some reason I did not think it was going to be so long. I am jus at 50%. All of the "facts"/"statements" about all of the Egyptian gods that the author throws in are fascinating, but I cannot tell if they are made up or what. He has quite the imagination, even if I am not the target audience for this trilogy.
I have been re-listening to some of the Barker & Llewelyn series books while waiting for the latest in the series to be available. I love the narrator's voice for the characters.

I started listening to A Gathering of Shadows - Shades of Magic, book two. I’m disappointed. They changed narrators. I don’t know if the female is the same one but the male is definitely not the same guy that narrated the first book. The first guy had “voices for the characters. The new guy is just reading.

This series was at the top of my long list of series to finish. And, it is done. I am declaring the Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan killed, March 12th.
I think I picked up this series, although it is aimed at middle teens, after I started reading the Amelia Peabody series. I chose The Red Pyramid for a challenge task, although I do not remember which challenge. I think I needed a fire on the cover. It was a novel way to expose the names and lore of the mostly long forgotten Egyptian gods to kids. I wish Sadie and Carter Kane well. ;o)

I am at 92% in the Jane Hawk book. I need to finish it - it is going to expire soon.

The ebook ended at 94%, where the preview for the next book, The Forbidden Door started.

Woohoo! I liked it a lot too.

I put the ebook of A Gathering of Shadows on hold at my library.
I checked out the names of the narrators and found #1 A Darker Shade of Magic was narrated by Steven Crossley. #2 A Gathering of Shadows by Michael Kramer, and #3 A Conjuring of Light by Kate Reading.
I like her, so I may listen to the third book in audio - when I get to it. I am in no rush.

I have one more ready to listen to , and one on hold from my library.
There seems to be one missing, but my library does not seem to have it in audiobook format. ;o(

I put a hold on the next one but the wait list is long (I am #42 on 6 copies).

I never noticed that the dedication was to William Smithback, Jr. Interesting!

Walt is the sheriff of Absaroka County, Wyoming. Forty-one pages later and I know that he doesn’t eat donuts, his wife died, he has a daughter that is a lawyer in Philadelphia. He is “a sheriff who had survived by the cult of personality... I like him.

It seems that there are more available, so I will probably listen to them too, when they become available. They are listed as "Robert B. Parker's xxx, like the Jessie Stone books, written by other authors.

I also finished reading The Cold Dish, Walt Longmire #1 for my yearly challenge. I loved it! I totally enjoyed the author’s humor and his excellent story. I seem to be a sucker for these older, single guys be they detectives, policemen, sheriffs or private investigative folks. I added all of the book titles to my series spreadsheet and purchased Death Without Company, which is book #2

My library has Jane Hawk #4 available and I can download it now, if I want. Let me know and I will start it with you. 😉

We plan on it after our chunky book. To quote the TV show Survivor ‘The tribe has spoken.
Probably plan on around two weeks out.

I finished the 25th book in the FBI Thriller series in record time, partly because I was able to download the audiobook and the ebook at the same time. What a difference writing 24 more books made in the series. Vortex was great. I am almost afraid to go back to the beginning of the series now.

A book mentioned in another book:
Coming of Age in Samoa by Margaret Mead is mentioned in Robert B. Parker’s Fool Me Twice by Michael Brandman

I read the reviews and checked with my library. The book is available, so I may read it. ;o)

I am listening to the #8th book in the Robert B. Parker Virgil Cole & Everett Hitch series. Robert B. Parker's Blackjack - I think I need a score card, there are so many characters.

I started the 12th Barker & Llewelyn book in audio. A Dance with Death is set in London 1893. England’s Prince George is getting married and the heir to the Russian Throne’s life is in danger. This an orphan read for me. I killed the series several books ago.

I just finished book #3. I loved it! My granddaughter and I finally finished bing-watching the complete TV series on Netflix on Sunday. Now, we can complete the Stargate Universe series on CD from my library. 🤣

Cornell is reading it to Travis. “It’s Magic.

This one has been quite different than the previous three. I am relieved. The others were just action scene after action scene. This one has some VERY unique characters and plot scenes.

Jane Hawk #4 expired from my tablet before I finished her and I just got her back from the library today.

I started listening to Diablo Mesa (Nora Kelly #3) this morning after I received the notice from my library that it was available.

I finished Depth of Winter and listened to his novella, The Highwayman, into the wee hours.
For the first time, the next book for Walt is not available so I finally got back to Jane Hawk. Then, I found out that there were only three short chapters left! The six percent left in the book was for the preview of the next story. ☹️
I hate that about the ePub format that I choose to read but it works best on my old tablet.
While I wait for Walt, I am going to finish People of the Book and maybe pick up Travels With Mysrlf and One Other.

My granddaughter and I are listening to the last Pastoral Protectorate book, TImeless.

My granddaughter and I are listening to the last Pastora..."
Did you watch the tv series? If so, did the tv series stay close to the books?

Did you mean the Walt Longmire stuff, Janice? If yes, then I can say that we binge watched the TV series after I finished the first book and while I was reading/listening to the second. I think the TV series stories were much more dramatized regarding the activities on the Indian Reservation. The characters were pretty true to the books. The first season stories for the TV series were a combination of several events from the first few books.
Personally, I liked the books and characters better and really enjoyed the George Guidell narrations, except for the last book. The audio editing was terrible. Craig Johnson writes great dialogue the humor is subtle and funny. The greatest thing is the amount of history/facts and information he puts into the stories and I love the Cherokee language included. I spend/spent a lot of time looking things up, and listening to songs. I read and listened to all of the books - more than once.

I know what you mean, Janice. I hope you enjoy them, if you get a chance to read any more.
I guess I caught it at just the right time. All of the books were available from my library, and I was able to get the next one, right after finishing, without any long wait times.
Now, they seem to all have holds and 3 or 4 week wait times. I will be chewing my fingernails until #18 is published in September.
