Shaun Well,
My fav that I've read is Ender's Game; really can't go wrong there (I read 2 or 3 of the subsequent novels, which are also pretty good).
A recent read was Ready Player One, which I really enjoyed. It's a future video-game distopia, where everyone lives their lives in this virtual reality because real life sucks. It was awesome IMO

Heather (zaryna) | 2 comments Any Heinlein fans?

Gord | 1 comments I love Heinlein. I grew up reading Andre Norton books, so I recommend all of those. Also really Dan Abnett novels, they are a bit more military sci fi but still a good read

I am a complete sci/fi fantasy nut. A lot of the fiction I love is the older stuff. You like HGttG? Have you every read "Good Omens" by Terry Prachett and Neil Gaiman?

I have read several Heinlein. I think that one of my favorite is The Number of the Beast, although I also really like Job: A Comedy of Justice.

Ive always wanted to read some Heinlein, but I am hugely into Asimov and have just finished the first 3 of Iain M bank's culture series, so i'll have to read them after im finished with them.

Here! Although I guess fan might be an overstatement, as I've only read The Moon is a Harsh Mistress and that was a few years back. I did really enjoy it though. It's on my list of books to re-read. I also recently picked up a copy of The Cat Who Walks Through Walls, so I'll be getting around to that one soon.

Nick Wauters | 8 comments I just picked up a 5 book set of "A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" from Barnes and Noble. Once I finish off "Slaughterhouse-5" I was going to move onto that.

I'll have to look into a few of your recommendations!

Marcus | 1 comments I recommend 2312 by Kim Stanley Robinson. Humans have spread throughout the solar system, colonizing and advancing. But no matter how far they go they still feel the need to return home. The storyline is enjoyable but what really makes the novel is the visions of the future that Robinson portrays. Absolutely fantastic!

Albert Fraser | 20 comments I just finished an old sci-fi book, Cosmic Engineers. It's a bit interesting because the science is a bit off because of the time period it was written (1930's). For example, Pluto is not only still a planet but it's also comes before Uranus in order from the sun, along with some other things. I'm also reading one more book and then I'm starting the Dune series, which I'm excited for.
