Did you enjoy the book? Why or why not?

allie | 3 comments I enjoyed Hot Dog Girl, but I found Lou to be a bit immature for someone in their soon-to-be senior year. I didn't really like the writing style, which made it felt more like a long conversation than an actual book, but I loved the story. I also loved the fact that this was a fake relationship to a real relationship type of book. I've kind of always wanted to work at an amusement park, sort of a bucket list type thing, so I really like reading about Lou's experiences in the park itself. I also felt the relationship and the whole Jessa thing was predictable, but I still liked it. Also, second-hand embarrassment is so strong in this book. Overall, I really enjoyed it and it had me cringing, laughing, and I even felt myself tearing up with that letter, only a little bit.

So glad you liked it! Have you read Jennifer Dugan's other books? Both Verona Comics and Some Girls Do were great!

I'll post some other similar books in another thread.

allie | 3 comments I haven't read those, but I added them to my TBR!

Daphne | 2 comments Yes, I liked the book. I found it to funny and come together nicely but for me it took a while to get into it because of how much Lou complained and her childish behavior toward the events in her life. In the ending I really thought it was quite nice how the one person Lou was really in love with was her best friend.
