I'm going to listen to the audio ofThe Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue because I've been meaning to finish it for awhile now. I'm sure I'll read other books this month to fit the prompt too though.

Tanya Kelly-Hadley | 10 comments 'You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty' by Akwaeke Emezi - Book Completed - Romance is not my choice read but I loved this book. It felt so much more than just a romance. It touched on grief and finding yourself. I read it in two days because I could not put it down.

Read Blackout by Dhonielle Clayton. It's a series of connected short stories about teens and love - all kinds of relationship. Loved it!

Cecil Huston | 226 comments Will read The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. It's been on my daughters bookshelf for a long while, I'll be reading it before she gets to it!

Yalonda (yalondade) | 80 comments Challenge complete - sort of

With all that is going on right now (international move after 22 years in same place), I simply could not get into my chosen book. After full days of cleaning, sorting, packing, & appointments, I just don't have the brain power needed to process everything Poppy Z Brite is trying to pack into the first few chapters. I see quite a bit of potential for a great read but this is not a quick read. I will give this another shot once we are settled.

I listened to So Happy For You by Celia Laskey. Both the character and the author are LGBTQ. It is about the wedding of a friend in which the main character is the maid of honor, and the bride tries to kill her. I enjoyed it.

Read The Song of Achillesby Madeline Miller.
In this version of the saga of Achilles and Patroclus, they are lovers instead of cousins as depicted in the movie "Troy". The writing was superb, and Greek tragedy aspect was moving. Enjoyed it immensely!

Cecil Huston | 226 comments Added one more book to my Pride month reading; a graphic novel called Queer as All Get Out: 10 People Who've Inspired Me by Shelby Criswell. Very educational and informative, and entertaining as well. Recommended reading for those who are not sure how to navigate the non-straight world of sexuality and identity, whether for themselves or for someone they care about, as I do my daughter, who is a lesbian. Well done!

just lori (lgraber1212gmailcom) | 37 comments Challenge complete. I read The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune. The House in the Cerulean Sea This is one of my few 5 star reads for this year. Wonderful characters! The story feels light even though a serious theme underlies the story. Really enjoyable read.
