Must be active in the buddy discussion to count for the points. Minimum of two comments talking about the contents of the book, not only "It's good, I like this/that."

Christy (wayamom8) Wow this book is quite interesting so far. The puritanical / cult- like community is very disconcerting. I’m definitely drawn into the intrigue. Can’t wait to see how Immanuelle comes into her own self.

aikaterine (missaikaterine) | 346 comments I haven’t made as much progress as I would like yet, but it is indeed a very interesting community so far. I didn’t expect all the religious attributes as well.

Hey, guys! Hope y’all are enjoying the book so far. I just picked it up today and I can’t really determine how I feel about it yet. The beginning is a little slow for my taste but as the chapters go on it really begins to build up to the main story.

aikaterine (missaikaterine) | 346 comments Sooo... I know I wanted to finish this by Halloween, but it takes me so long to make progress due to the dark themes. *sigh*

I am now 60% of the way through and it's getting better (or I'm getting used to it) because this Part I was making me way too uncomfortable with (view spoiler)

@Edith
I totally agree about the creeps. Ezra seems fine so far, but I don't know, I have the suspicion that something might change later on?

@Cat I think the storyline itself is phenomenal. (but that might be because it's been a good minute since I've read anything remotely witchy/puritanical? I'm just a sucker for historical fiction in general lol) Anyway, I think the ending can go either way, but I'd love to hear your thoughts nonetheless!

aikaterine (missaikaterine) | 346 comments @Edith now, almost 80% of the way through, I can say that the plot has definitely picked up and I'm invested, haha! I still don't like all this puritanical stuff, ahaha, but I like the way it's going. It's definitely much better than your typical fantasy, I give the book that!

Oooh I see you've finished it! I'd love to hear your thoughts about the ending, too :D

Of course! I'll wait until you finish though, don't want to ruin anything for you xD

aikaterine (missaikaterine) | 346 comments Sooo, I finished this book the other day.

I have to say, by the end of the book I was very invested. But, still, it was dark for me, ahaha.

And I definitely understand why to use a puritanical backdrop for a 'revolutionary' protagonist. But, it was driving me crazy when I was reading about it xD
