Hi everyone,

I thought it would be nice to have a place to chat about anything and everything, it does not have to be book/group related.

So grab a cuppa and pull up a chair! I hope everyone is doing well.

I found a free blackwork bookmark pattern that says "Once Upon A Time." You can find the pattern here if you'd like it:

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 164 comments I just got back from a road trip to see my mom. On the way I came across gingerbread style Oreo cookies. Now I do love me some gingerbread, and gingersnaps, but I seem to have trouble finding or making them. I hope these are still in the grocery next time I shop!

Hope you enjoy them, Chery! I am one of those weird people that don't like my Oreos being messed with though. I have no idea why they ever started making different flavors, other than the double stuff. Why mess with a good thing? LOL. Hope you had a nice trip too.

Hoping you all had a nice Christmas and hopefully will have a nice New Year. Our Christmas was quiet, just myself, my hubby, daughter (Shanna) and grandson. My parents were supposed to come, but my mother ended up in the hospital and even though she went home on the evening of Christmas eve, she was (and is) in no shape to do any traveling and isn't really up for visitors or much. She has three broken vertebrae from a fall and is in a lot of pain.
This has been quite stressful for our family as none of us live closer than an hour away.
Oh well, as they say, this too shall pass.

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 164 comments Ouch. I hope your mother recovers as smoothly as possible, Lisa.

And I hope we all have a healthy, successful, and Happy New Year!

While I agree with you for the most part. I like the lemon Oreos. They are lemon cream with golden Oreo cookies. Once I tried them I decided I really liked them (I love anything lemon) but I don't think of them as Oreos, just a good lemon cookie.

The one that, for me, ran neck in neck with the original Oreos they don't make anymore. Uh-Oh Oreos were the golden cookies with chocolate cream.

I'm not a fan of the double stuff.

Sorry to hear about your mom, I know the feeling. My mother had a stroke a few months ago we live in Arizona and she's in Florida. That's one of the reasons for our vacation, to see her for her birthday. And to have a honeymoon. Thankfully she's doing well, even driving already but it was scary. I'll keep your family in my prayers.

Thanks! Most of us (children and grandchild) will be gathering for my mother's birthday. Then we're going to spend some time at Disney World... my favorite place in the world.

Hi everyone,

So sorry the May discussion was late. My ex, the father of my children, went into the hospital for the third time in two months. They could not figure out what was going on but eventually determined he needed a valve replacement and triple by pass. It's been beyond stressful. While we are not married anymore after 36 years he's still family. And of course, this has impacted my kids greatly. I'm not sure how much more time this is going to consume. I'm trying to make sure his bills are paid and other things like that. Sorry again.

My goodness, you certainly have a lot of stressful things going on in your life! The book was unavailable from my library system until today, so I hadn't even noticed that the discussion wasn't open yet. Oops. I'm so sorry!

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 164 comments The only good thing about getting older is the alternative, as they say. Sometimes I'm not even too sure about that.

Cheryl (cherylllr) | 164 comments Gem, I hope your stressors have calmed down.

I've made it past another birthday, doing quite well actually. Wound up buying our house from our landlord because she wanted out. Can now have a pet, so we got a baby spotted python; Sybil is such a little sweetheart. Walking every day every daylight hour and thereby getting at least 10K steps, mostly in the fresh air.

I just read Dealing With Dragons but I don't see a thread for it?
