well I thought it was time we put a new thread to keep our Net Galley books.

Ones we have just had agreed to read.

I have had three today

Today

approved one and denied another.

I had the following approvals Normal

And had a read now book

Added a bunch of already released books to build up my NetGalley profile. Not going to bite more than I can chew...

Thanks Janet! I have been reading the FAQs and sometimes the rejections happen because you have not been reviewing enough or have too many unread books in your shelf.

I am on my phone so I can't post the links to books. I have been turned down and approved but its important to keep your ratings up. I hate feeling like im in a race to read a book. it takes the fun out of it.

Agree with you there, Dana. I think carefully about what I select now.

I'm going to be MUCH more selective in future! ;)

Can anyone tell me how to retrieve books that have been sent to kindle email from netgalley?

1. Go to your Amazon.com account to find your Kindle email address.
-> In your Amazon account, go to MANAGE YOUR CONTENT AND DEVICES.
-> Click ‘Settings�, which is the third tab to the right.
-> Scroll down to “Personal Document Settings.â€� You’ll see an email address under your ‘Send-To-Kindle E-Mail Settingsâ€� (it will be something like [email protected]). You’ll need this for your NetGalley Profile.

2. While in your Amazon account, make sure [email protected] is an approved email to send to your Kindle under “Approved Personal Document Email List."

Click "Add a new approved e-mail address," enter [email protected] and click Add Address.

3. Make sure that your Kindle email address is saved in your NetGalley account.

Sign into NetGalley.com, and click on Profile in the drop-down menu in the main menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the Get Ready to Read section enter your @kindle.com address in the Kindle Email field. Click Save.

4. Find the title you want to read on your Kindle.

In your NetGalley account, go to your Shelf section to see a list of all titles you’ve been approved to access. Click on a title to view the available reading options for that title in the center of the page. If you see the Send to Kindle button, just press it once and the book should appear in the Documents section of your device, app and Kindle library.

Coming Home <-- reading this at the moment, but it's not a new approval. When I got the kindle download from netgalley the formatting put me off - with lots of the words all running into one - so I sent feedback basically saying "sorry, the formatting was too weird for me to read" and they got in touch and sent me a paperback copy instead.

I've had that problem before Elaine, never occurred to me to say anything. Will bear that in mind in future.

I've just had another approved.

Sean, chill. Some of my Netgalley reads were archived months ago, nearly a year. Stop requesting until you've read a couple and just chill. They do not have to be read before they're archived. Publishers are interested in generating interest hence the reviews. Lot of completion out there amongst authors, doesn't matter who you are.

99 pence on Book Bub

I have several that I've had from NetGalley for months! My biggest problem is that I really prefer print books. I seem to read slower on my kindle. :-)
But since I get to read some really good books for me, I'm really not going to complain. :-)

I hope I haven't blown it. I'm auto-approved by 2 publishers for any book they have. One of them was soooo bad, I just couldn't read beyond the first 8 or 9 pages. So I went back to NetGalley and where you enter feedback, I entered No Review and then sent a note to the publisher. Haven't heard anything back. Now I'm wondering if they're going to take me off their list of approved reviewers.

What is NetGalley??

It's a site that lets you read advanced reader copies of books before they are published. You can request books and if you get approval from the publisher, you get to read them for free. But they ask that you review them and post your reviews on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and Amazon. Google NetGalley and all the information is there.

I don't think that should be a cause of concern. It is never expected that you are supposed to rate all the books 4 or 5 stars. Ultimately it is your opinion. The publisher can appreciate it or park it.
